Starting 3/23/2012, the Disney Channel is starting a new channel, the Disney Junior the Channel. At this time, UVERSE is not going to carry that network. All other cable providers is going to carry it. Make sure to let AT&T know you want this new channel added!

So far there are only 4 providers that are going to be carrying Disney Jr. So when you say ALL you are sadly mistaken. Very few are carrying it when it launches.

So apparently the information on Wikipedia is wrong about ATT replacing Soapnet with Disney Jr. But then again there are some many Channels devoted to kids programming. Its like the world is NOT going to end if ATT does not Carry Disney Junior. Just flood of new members, posting once to complaining spamming ATT U-Verse TV Programming Boards.
Disney Junior HD will be a high definition simulcast feed, broadcasting moderate amount of Disney Junior's programming in 720p HD. It will begin broadcasting on March 23, 2012. Many cable providers will carry the HDsimulcast feed, along with DirecTV, AT&T U-verse and Verizon FIOS. Currently, Dish Network does not carry the Disney/ABC Cable Networks' HD simulcast channels due to a retransmission consent dispute with the Walt Disney Company, so it will probably not carry the channel.

wouldn't be the first time wikipedia was incorrect. According to the disneyjrchannel website DirectTV, Dish Network and UVerse are not carrying it.

If they're not going to replace SoapNet with Disney Jr, where are they going to put it? There are very few "startup" networks these days. The vast majority come at the expense of another network. Some examples
The modern day Animal Planet operates from space once occupied by WWOR EMI Service (Superstation)
MTV-X (Rock) became MTV Jams (Hip Hop) Channel 508. Then again U-Verse didn't exist in 2002.
VH1 Mega Hits became Logo
VH Uno (Spanish VH1) became a national feed of MTV-U (MTV-U itself replaced College Television Network) Channel 510
Tr3s was MTV-S (MTV Espaniol)
Spike TV was TNN (first The Nashville Network, then The National Network)
Discovery Health became OWN
Discovery Wings became The Military Channel
Discovery Home became Planet Green
Discovery Fit & Health was Fit TV, until OWN launched, so they merged Fit TV and Discovery Health, and rebranded.
Newsworld International became Current TV
Odyssey Network became The Hallmark Channel in 2001
CNN International on many systems was once the space used by CNN FN.
Trio became Sleuth (now Cloo)
ToonDisney (basically what Disney Jr. is about to replace) became DisneyXD
Modern day G4 is a result of G4Tech, TechTV and ZDTV
MuchMusic (USA Feed) was a 50/50 partnership between MSG/Cablevision and CHUM Limited. CHUM's 50 was sold to Cablevision, in 2001 and they were allowed to call the station "MuchMusic" as long as they continued to run some of the Canadian programming. They didn't like that idea, so we got more and more "MMUSA" which led to CHUM revoking Cablevision's licence to use that name, and as a result, we got FUSE. Now MuchMusic is owned by Bell Media, and suddenly FUSE is starting to look like MuchMusic, even going as far as running MuchMusic Canada shows like The Wedge, MMVAS, Live@Much, and Video On Trial again. Its sorta like a divorced couple getting back together again, almost.
Some of these were as a result of a sale, others as a result of wanting to launch a new network and needing space for it. Viacom and Discovery do it most often.

If Disney/ABC continues it's destruction of it's scripted dramas and no longer offers Soapnet, I hope ATT will consider another Soap channel in the future which could should classic soaps, current soaps, and web soaps. Until then, a channel that appeals to the entire family not just children would be preferable to Disney JR.
What is the name of that channel?

Other than "Web Soaps". the current SoapNet actually began as that, showing "old" Falcon Crest, and Dallas episodes. They chose to keep or drop certain shows, based on demand and consumer feedback. No company will drop anything that is in high demand, so I guess the demand (your desires not withstanding) was not there to sustain the classic Soap programming.

That decision was made by by Disney-ABC. On March 22, 2012, all providers who have signed carriage agreements with Disney-ABC will receive Disney Junior. Those providers who have not yet signed a carriage agreement with Disney-ABC will continue to receive Soapnet until a carriage agreement is signed with Disney-ABC to receive Disney Junior. There are not any other soap opera channels currently in existence to replace Soap Net.Here is what Wikipedia says about the situation.
Soapnet (stylized as SOAPnet) is an American cable television channel that broadcasts current and past soap operas and primetime dramas, along with some original programming. The channel launched on January 20, 2000, and is owned by Disney-ABC Television Group, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. The channel does not have a high definition simulcast.
Disney-ABC announced that Soapnet is expected to cease most operations on March 22, 2012, with Disney Junior to replace it in its channel space.[2][3] As has been seen with the channel transitions of Nickelodeon GAS to TeenNick and Fox Reality Channel to Nat Geo Wild, an automated Soapnet schedule will continue for providers who have not yet made carriage agreements for Disney Junior after that date, and will continue to be offered until all providers have been signed for the new network.[2]
You say that "kids nowadays are obese from eating junk food and playing video games and watching tv ,which is really your free babysitter isnt' it?" You can also say that our mothers and grandmothers got obese from eating bon bons and watching soap operas" It works both ways.
Owning a computer and not having the internet is like buying a refrigerator and not stocking it with food.

Really, with most of the networks cancelling soap opera because no one is watching them you want to try and save them?

It may not happen until the end of the year when Soapnet is discontinued. I doubt it happens any sooner than that. I'm hoping by the first that Disney Jr. will be available, but not enough to switch. Got a Roku recently and there are plenty of shows my son can watch now on Netflix and Kidlet TV.
