Dropping Channels on Uverse!!!

You are dropping AMC channel and, today, I received a card that you may be dropping Hallmark Channel.  I watch both of these channels a lot.  If I lose both of them,  I will switch all of my services to  Suddenlink!!!!!!   I have 200 channels and most are not worth watching much less paying for.

AMC was negotiated in ATT's favor by keeping it and getting the channels that were not in all areas into all areas on Uverse.  No reason to think it will not come out favorably on the Hallmark channel.

Also, I would not get too stressed out about the Hallmark Channel and the Hallmark Movie Channel.  My guess is that an agreement will be reached.

Even if they did get dropped ATTs decision would not be based upon whether or not someone would drop the service.  It would take tens of thousands of subs unified to get ATT to change their SOP.   But every individual has to do what is best for themselves and their families.  If you want to drop the service then drop it, but unfortunately your decsion will more than likely have absolutely no affect.

Just received notice that you are dropping Hallmark Channels! There is an entire community of subscribers that watch Hallmark Channel which is the last of the decent channels left. If you drop this channel we are all moving back to Comcast.  I'm sure they would be happy to have us all back!  You load your network  with all these channels that most people don't watch but have to pay for. Now you decide what channels are cut out? Will my bill be any lower? Carl

I don't say nuthin' about actually dropping those beloved channels.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do NOT let that happen.  Lots of times in the COLD winter there is NOTHING on for  movies but I can always count on Halmark to have decent, good movies.  That is one reason I took U verse because Halmark was on the list.  At least there movies aren't filled with sex & violence!!!!  PLEASE do what you can to keep Halmark!!!!

While I understand the subscriber being upset, this practice of negotiating contracts and threating to

pull them is common practice.

If she thinks it wont happen with Comcast Im sorry to say it will.

They all do it! I dont like it but thats they way all these people opperate.

Dish network is notorious for this.

They pulled 15 Voom channels in one shot!

Leaving a provider who acts like this is understandable.

Great, here we go with the one post wonders again.  And did i read a whole community of HMC/Hallmark watchers?  Really, I wouldn't even know where to look for the channel in my guide. I would venture to say that less people watch those two channels than watch AMC and it's not like it's got a huge following.

I wonder if Suddenlink is the same way.  "200 channels and most aren't worth watching."  That sounds like ANY provider.  Oh well, I know you'll be back in a few days with a new screen name and a new provider you'll "go back to."

BTW, how much did that company pay you to come over here and spam the forum?  (I have a feeling you aren't an AT&T customer, because if you were, you would have realized that AMC is on AT&T.)

Like I said elsewhere, AT&T seriously needs to carry EVERY channel except the XXX-rated ones.  I guarantee it that we'd see a ton of posts "If you don't add the T&A channel NOW!!! I AM CANCELING U-VERSE!! The installer said that we'd get this channel!  We get Playboy, but not the T&A channel! I fully enjoy those programs and they're not available!"

I think we need to carry the XXX channels as well.  I need those channels, if I don't get those channels I'm going to provider X who carries those channels and they only cost me $50/mo each.  Doesn't AT&T want my money?

I really hope Hallmark isn't dropped.  Family programming from them is a primary reason for continuing the service.  Please work this out.  Show us some love

It will be up to the Hallmark channel group whether the channels are witheld by them to ATT.  ATT is not dropping anything, seems they are trying to raise the rate and ATT does not feel the channels are worth more money as guess who will pay it.

I happened to be watching Hallmark Channel for a few minutes today, and they were doing a crawl similar to what AMC, IFC, & We did when they were possibly being dropped.

I think they will come to an agreement in the 11th hour, just like with Rainbow Media.  I will be very surprised to see these channels go away.

Indeed.  TW and Disney (owners of the various ESPN and Disney channels) are "really really" close to a deal in the 9th hour.

The only drag about these announcements is the number of people who come in here ranting and raving about a channel being dropped before reading all of the info.  I can't blame the providers for announcing that a channel may be dropped because forums like these give them (the providers) an idea of how much their subs care or don't care about a specific channel.

People were having fits and threatening to drop UV if AMC and TMC were dropped, and then suddenly everything was resolved.  Both parties knew they were going to come to an agreement.
