The A/V Sync is way off on ESPN3D. It's been like this since the inception of the channel back in June. Last night during the Boise St/VT game, the audio was between 1.5 and 2 seconds behind the video. Now that ESPN3D is going to be having weekly programming, this needs to be fixed ASAP, especially considering we, as UVerse subscribers, are the only ones that have to pay our provider for 3D content. All other providers offer 3D for free if you have the HD package.
This is a UVerse issue as directv and comcast users aren't seeing the problem. I have also confirmed that other UVerse customers are seeing the same thing.

You make a good point, but we are all subs just like you. In the peer to peer forum we don't have any control over what services are lacking or excelling. We just post comments, as you have, and offer suggestions/solutions for other subs who may be experiencing issues. The a/v sync issue has been around for quite awhile to varying degrees, and on varying channels. The fact that there is one on ESPN 3D is not surprising.
However, ATT does have people who monitor the forum but they aren't allowed to post or reply that they have even ready your post, or to state that the issue is being worked on. I think if you can or are willing to wait it out, that sync problem will go away or at least become minimal. Since I have had Uverse I have come to the realization that IPTV is loaded with unexpected glitches, pitfalls, problems, issues that ATT engineers did not expect. But then anything new usually is.
I believe they are aware of the a/v sync problem with 3d tv and are working on it. Just like I believe that they will get more and more posts about this issue as they rollout more 3d channels.

While I agree with you, and I have been in contact with Tier 2 support, and emailed them again last night after the issue was still present. I'm just trying to make sure the issue is known to as many techs as possible. I understand this is a new technology, and there are probably an extremely small number of subscribers to the tier, so if it's not made evident that there is a problem, those of us that are 3D subscribers may be ignored.
I also understand that A/V sync is or has been a common problem across many channels at one time or another. The difference with the 3D package is that we are paying $10 a month for a single channel that has at most 3 1/2 hours of programming a week. When the A/V is out of sync on that one channel it leaves a sour taste in your mouth as you are specifically paying for that one channel. For instance if one HD channel is out of sync, it's only one out of several that I'm paying for. So while annoying (especially if it's during programming that I want to watch), it's not like I'm paying strictly for that channel.
The 3D customers out there are content starved right now, so when content is available, we just want it to function properly. It's also difficult to stomach being the only ones to pay our content provider for 3D and not receiving other 3D programming that other providers are getting such as the PGA Championship, US Open, and the MLB allstar game. But I digress, I just want to see a blocked punt in 3D and not hear the crowd start cheering almost 2 seconds after it happens ![]()

Well, here it is the end of December and this issue is still prevalent. I am a new customer, but came on line after watching the NY Knick vs. Chicago Bulls this Christmas morning. I thought I was watching an old Kung fu movie. For $10 extra and this is it. Well, I have 30 days to decide to keep this company or not. Wow!

I watched the first quarter and the audio was about a second behind the video, but then when I turned it back on in the 3rd quarter, the audio and video were synced up for the entire half. Hooray!

I have been in constant contact with ATT tier 2 support over the last 6 months about this issue. I sent them another email yesterday, and they were supposedly going to look into to it during last nights game, as they couldn't check during the day because nothing was on. Hopefully this will solve the problem for good.
Because of the limited programming, it's tough to watch everything, so I can't email everytime that I see the problem. If you see the A/V sync to be messed up again, please email tier 2 support at uversecare@att.com and let them know about the problem.
I assume that we (3D package subscribers) are in an extreme minority of UVerse customers, so we have to make our voices heard when problems occur.

Basically 1 big echo to your posts browerjs...I have been in contact with Tier 2 service 3 times now and A/V sync is not fixed. They actually tried to tell me today the only game that should be on ESPN3D so far is the World Cup. They didn't understand why I was even getting Bowl Games and NBA basketball games etc. Why would I be paying $10/month to watch the World Cup from the summer 2010?
They told me the same thing to call back when there is a game on. So I will try again Friday night for the Suns game. I will also send them emails every time there is a game on.
I guess with so few people subscribing they don't really understand it is a problem. I have told them to check out the Uverse Community message boards..because rebooting my receiver is not going to fix this problem.

I received the following response from tier 2 yesterday:
"I spoke to our video team today they were able to replicate it after they viewed it while a game was airing. Please monitor it for the next air date and let me know."
Hopefully this is why the issue cleared up in the 2nd half. But I feel that I have finally made contact with a tech who will help get this issue resolved. I'll be monitoring the game tonight, and I think there is supposed to be a College Football Live on today (which isn't showing up in the guide) at 3PM EST

Well the audio/video were still way out of sync for me during last night's NBA game. Very frustrating...

I was on the phone with them for 45 minutes during the first half. They said the video group was watching the game and would then look to see if there was an ESPN issue or a issue on there end at Uverse.
I shut it off, but today I looked at the 2nd half on DVR and it was in sync. Not sure what is going on.

It's definately not an ESPN problem, because there are no reports of it from DirectTV, Comcast, etc. of the problem.

Yeah once again I had sync issues in the first half but they were fixed by the second half. Almost been noticing more frequent audio sync issus on other channels as well.

I checked real quick last night, and it looks like with the move to 24/7 programming on ESPN 3D the A/V Sync issue was fixed. Hopefully it will stay this way for live events.
