Where is your source? Let me guess you don't have one. Its Time Warner Cable that is fighting with Fox, as far as I know Uverse hasn't been mentioned?

This situation affects TIME WARNER CABLE only. All other providers are unaffected, including U-Verse.
edit to add the following from the Dallas Morning News:
"At this time, it looks like we will not reach an agreement and our channels may very well go off the air in Time Warner Cable systems" to start the new year, said Chase Carey, News Corp.'s president and chief operating officer, in a letter to employees Wednesday.
The article continues with an interesting aside:
But Time Warner continues to insist it has the right to show Fox's Dallas affiliates, KDFW (Channel 4) and KDFI (Channel 27), and "will not drop those channels from its lineup on Jan. 1, 2010," said Gary Underwood, the cable operator's spokesman in North Texas.
That hasn't stopped KDFW from mentioning the situation at every newscast.

Corporate greed? Are you nuts?!
Not all service providers ( Dish, Direct, UV) pay the same for programming. It's totally a wheel and deal situation. Negotiation (haggling) is the name of the game. If you, as a service provider, can under cut your competition and still maintain your cost/profit ratio you win. Not sure on this one but programming has got to be right up there as a top operating cost. You will see more of this in the coming year. Content providers trying to push increases to service providers. I applaud UV for not going out and signing up everyone just to fill their menu. Sit back, see what subscribers want, build a viewer base and maybe a few content providers may come your way.
I would not mind loosening a channel for several days if it would strengthen UV's bargaining stance. If you will not risk blank channels, you have NO bargaining power. Go for lower costs and hold down the increases.
Corporate greed. Of course their in it to make money. But. . . Competition competition competition. It benefits us all as consumers.

It is Time Warner and Brighthouse Networks. Both of their contracts expire on 12/31/09. Uverse will have to deal with this issue when their contract expires, unless they are already paying the fee.

I've found some updated info. Does not mention UV. Story is from AP Business News via North Carolina TV Station News Link .

Edit: Ok maybe not much update but when you start messing with College/NFL Football
. First I can recall getting the FCC involved (not yet anyway) in a pricing dispute. Let the market take care of it's self.

Probably not. He / She just registered today.
Probably has been planted here by Time Warner, I wouldn't doubt it.

I'd be soooooo angry if this is true and i wake up tomorrow morning to find FOX has been removed.....my wife would cancel U-Verse in a second if it does happen because all her favourite shows are on that station.....Bones, House etc.....i have a feeling it's only gonna disappear on Time Warner though.....(fingers crossed)

Just because they are the only ones that went public with this doesn't mean they are the only company having issues with FOX right now. Also TWC is also the bigger story due to the larger subscriber base that would be affected.

Nice try but if another TV provider was having the same contract dispute Time Warner would be mentioning it to prove that FOX is the bad guy in this situation.

OH, NO!! Thanks for the warning, wacky_d. I'm definitely going to replace U-verse immediately and not wait a few hours to see if what you say is true.

This is false information.
I just posted the article in the lounge. It's Time Warner cable who may lose FOX.
Here you can read it here:

We plan to be watching Fox News tonight. If it goes dark at midnight we'll put the cork back in the champagne and switch to **bleep** Clark.
Edit: Man, I can't believe they'd censor a celebrity's name.

Considering that AT&T and Fox are engaged in multiple sponsorship deals for programming shown on the Fox family of networks, it would benefit both sides to keep quiet on this and keep negotiating in good faith.

It is great that anyone can post here, but the OP is .
No credibility with what is being said unless there is a source.

He may not have phrased it quite right. All the non O & O Fox affiliates are renegotiating their contracts
and may lose Fox programming after midnight. ![]()
