The next spring training game on FSSD is tomorrow. Tick, tick, tick. 2 weeks from today is opening day. How long do you suppose it will take to schedule a DirecTV install?

According to your previous post, you only have access to Dish Network and U-verse.

Billboards are in Lakeside, Kearney Mesa and I suspect otherplaces for "Fox Sports San Diego". It's a difficult position as the deal with the Padres has yet to be approved and fans in the market want to see the game tomorrow night on TV. I for one, was told that the new network would be on. I am hoping that it'll be on in time for opening day. If not; Padres are a main reason I jumped from Cox and their price-creep. The silence is roaring from MLB, the Padres, and U-verse. All three cannot comment on "deals"; yet the consumer (that's us) are left holding the remote and blaming the wrong party (U-verse) for not having the broadcast.
Well, back to normal programming after this brief, but important, time out from our sponsors ....

Texasguy: If you are going to call someone out for something said in a previous post, I suggest you read them all first. Check page 6. I went to directV and apparently my balcony is facing the way it needs to in order to get a signal. It's not 100% guaranteed until they come out, but I really don't want to have to go there. I just want U-Verse to do what they said they would.
Darth Padre wrote:
Well, I found out that I can get DirecTV at my location. The problem with the "we'll have FSSD on U-Verse by opening day" deal is that if they don't then I'll be out of luck for some period of time waiting to switch service. We know Cox and DirecTV have the Padres. I'll be making a decision before opening day if U-Verse doesn't move on this. The only reason I haven't switched already is there has not been an official announcement from the Padres on the deal with Fox Sports. When that happens and U-verse isn't listed as a provider, I'm gone.
That said, I hate to lose U-Verse because the service has been fine. No Padres is a deal breaker though. We have already missed one telecast and the next one is on Friday. Get the deal done already.

Perhaps the final shoe drops before an official announcement of the channel. http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/mar/22/moorad-
Jeff Moorad’s tenure as chief executive officer of the Padres has ended. Team President Tom Garfinkel will become the baseball’s club’s CEO on an interim basis.
Moorad’s installment purchase of the franchise from John Moores encountered a roadblock in January when a scheduled vote on the approval of his investment group was dropped from the agenda of an owners meeting in Arizona.
Issues Moorad initially described as “technical” proved to be more than that, and the prospect of his gaining controlling interest in the club met with stern resistance from a group of owners spearheaded by Chicago White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf and Ken Kendrick, managing general partner of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Earlier this month, with the Padres’ ownership situation again scheduled for discussion at a meeting of baseball’s ownership committee and executive council, Moorad withdrew his application, presumably anticipating an election he could not win.
John Moores and his partners retain controlling interest in the club, with a 51 percent stake. Moorad’s group owns 49 percent. According to a statement released by the Padres, Moorad will remain as vice chairman of the club and will be responsible for overseeing the Padres’ involvement in the development of Fox Sports San Diego.

If your Rangers were involved, I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate someone without a vested interest trying to make you look like bad by cherrypicking quotes. Go lead some other community dude. This issue doesn't concern you. You have a obvious agenda here.

We are all free to comment and post about any issues on this forum.
Also, carriage of any channel that requires a carriage fee concerns us all because it has an impact on the cost of our service.

Problem as I see is rather simple, FSSD is a valid channel and U-Verse doesn't carry it, there will be more then just Padre games telivised on FSSD. I don't have to worry about dish or direct, if U-Verse doesn't carry the channel I'm gone back to Cox. Simple as that.
I told with our salesperson today, they are giving us credit against our bill for the remaining $200 which is something but not what was promised, so they are on thin ice, if they don't carry FSSD I'm going back to Cox.If you click on the link in my last post you will see FSSD carring Padre games.

TXguy your banner implies you work for U-Verse, at least to me when I see a U-Verse tech support phone number.
Maybe you don't but if you do I'd suggest you work on your customer skills.
Have a nice day.

I'm a CL as well, and there are about 6 or 7 others who frequent the U-Verse forum, along with another group who frequents the wireless forum.
CLs have additional privileges on the forum, one of which is the ability to use graphical signatures in their posts. Many of the CLs here use a larger graphical signature, and most of us have the AT&T U-Verse technical support phone number displayed simply as a matter of convenience to other forum members.
TexasGuy (and myself, and other CLs) try to help other users, but we have no obligation to do so. Look at it from our side ... a user comes to this forum wanting help, then when we try to help they respond with disdain and contempt. That certainly doesn't make us want to go to the effort to help that user any further.

We or at least me aren't looking for help, I'm looking for an answer, Is U-Verse going to add FSSD to the channel line up.
Plain and simple tell me yes or no.
I don't need another set of steak knives.
If a CL can't provide that answer why bother posting on this thread?

If you are looking for an answer to that question here, you are looking in the wrong place. This is the U-verse customer forum. It is a peer to peer forum where customers help other customers resolve issues and get the most out of their system.
AT&T U-verse does not share the status of pending programming negotiations or provide advanced announcement of channel additions. You will not get that information on this forum no matter how many times you ask the question.
Also, since this a customer forum, we are customers not U-verse employees. If you desire an answer from AT&T, it would be best to contact them directly by phone or letter.

Well then its been a waste of time, thinking this was a customer service forum.
I've emailed and called U-Verse numerous times on this subject keep getting a run around was hoping this forum was read by AT&T no such luck.
Enjoy I won't bother you again.

The only think that you can do is use the link below to make it known that you would like a channel added.

That is because legally no one can tell you that they will or will not have a channel until it is made available to the public. You can scream it to the highest rooftop and you still won't get an answer from any provider whether they are going to carry channel X, Y or Z.

Take this with a grain of salt because of who said it, but Hacksaw Hamilton just said on his radio show he's heard from customers of Uverse and Time Warner that they are being told that it won't be till May at the EARLIEST that FSSD is picked up by either ATT or TWC. I really don't want to switch back to COX...

Not really we know the Padres are going to play the 2012 season but not who is going to televise them.

What do you suggest is the best way to let them know? Just call Padres customer service? Ticket office?

that stinks for all you folks in the 619.
ATT waves its arms high as can be crying their not getting a fair shot and trying to cause trouble for its competitors like cox and msg, but all the sudden their arms get mighty short when it actually comes time to dig into them deep pockets and provide services to their loyal customers.
chalk it up to lessons learned

Exactly. This is a Fox Sports/AT&T issue. I must have 10 Fox Sports channels through AT&T, I understand each deal is different, but you would think they could cut a deal. AT&T is missing out on an opportunity, with Time warner not being signed on yet. But like I said, perhaps they have no interest in the San Diego market.
