Unfortunately, you are one of many. If ATT and TWC do not have the Padres by opening day, my money is on them not getting it this season. They are betting that people won't switch services due to the hassle etc. Once the season starts and the casual fan realizes he/she does not have the games, the movement will be on in my opinion. I am holding out for some 11th hour miracle that will likely not happen. Fortunately, I'll be at opening day and then out of town where I can catch the games this weekend. Hopefully, I can get DirecTV to come out next week, but I have a feeling they will be backlogged.

This really sucks that the fans are the ones that suffer on this, This is ATT and FOX as well as the Padres, problem for not getting this done. The Padres made a ton of money on this and now they don't care if anyone watches the games, they got there money. Fox should have made these deals along time ago, they had the whole off season to work out the deals, they spent all that money and forgot to make sure they could show the games to the fans... ATT, you have been promising for the last 2 years that you would get the Padres once the CH4 deal was over, not live up to your promises... Also I bet once they do get this worked out, we will have to pay extra for the games. They will make us buy a expanded sport package that will give us MORE channels than we want of useless programs that no one wants.. Just like the NFL Red Zone, (Expanded Package) 10 other channels with the same thing on 5 of them or blacked out games.. So all I have to say is I am about feed up with ATT and these games they play.. , but my other choice is TW or Dish, both of which is not a better choice.. Maybe I should just stop watching TV???
ATT GET THIS FIXED NOW...

i found this on your website:
Sports fans of the San Diego Chargers (NFL), San Diego Padres (MLB) will get plenty of high-definition television coverage. And if they choose to sign up for AT&T U-verse's with High Speed Internet, they'll be able to keep up with scores and news as well.
oops guess not.....will have to go back to Cox Cable?

I am not going to pretend to know all the ins and outs of how the negotiation works, but AT&T appears to really be dropping the ball (pun intended on this one) when it comes to trying to steal market share from TWC.
I am in an area where TWC is #1 in the area - although COX rules in much of the county - and this would have been a perfect opportunity to get subs from those current TWC that want to watch the Padres. Hopefully AT&T is treating this differently than the NFL Network and NHL Network negotiations.

What NFL Network negotiations are you referring to?

I assume he's referring to the fact that TWC does not have the NFL Network and whether or not ATT took advantage of that fact. in any case, nice attempt to shift the focus of the conversation. Yes, ATT has the NFL network.
The bottom line is ATT will have failed to do as promised and instead of potentially gaining customers from TWC, they will lose significant portions of their tiny market share once the season begins tomorrow.

I'm not the one who make a reference to AT&T and negotiations for the NFL Network. I'm not trying to shift the focus of any conversation. If you want to continually post messages about U-verse not having a carriage agreement for Fox Sports San Diego, go ahead. Knock yourself out. It makes no difference to me.

Wish I could switch. They promised last year that we would have Padres games... well, here we are again! Very frustrating and don't know how to let ATT know how upset I am. They also dropped the NHL channel so they are batting -1000

When I moved and had to change from Cox to Att a year ago, I was promised Padres games this year. Very frustrating. I can go the games, but my 87 year old mother is stuck at home missing the games. Come on ATT, get with it!! You might also get the NHL channel that you ceased carrying this year.

THIS BLOWS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many UVERSE customers in the SAN DIEGO area are feeling extremely dissatisfied with SAN DIEGO PADRES BASEBALL / FOX SPORTS SAN DIEGO still nowhere to be found on your channels. From a marketing standpoint where ATT U-VERSE is trying to compete with COX and TWC they have fallen short in the eyes of many sports enthusiasts here in San Diego.
We are in San Diego the Mountain West Conference not the Atlantic Conference or Big Ten which should be your supplemental not primary sports channels here in San Diego.
I will be going back to COX as well as the many others that are leaving after feeling betrayed by the sales reps. Unfortunately U-VERSE had better service but at least with COX COMMUNICATIONS, I did not have an issue watching the PADRES or the AZTECS.

I know this has been posted, but to sum it up as I understand the situation, Cox is the only provider in the San Diego area that carries the Padres. The contract situation hangup is between Major League Baseball and Fox Sports San Diego, the other television providers or both. Or is the hangup between Fox Sports San Diego and the other providers?
All of these posts can be quite confusing at times. I am glad I live in St. Louis, and will only lose 20 games out of 150 on Fox Sports Midwest (20 out of 162 total with the other television channels included).
Owning a computer and not having the internet is like buying a refrigerator and not stocking it with food.

DirecTV also carries the channel. Right now there's a dual contract hangup. I don't believe that Major League Baseball has formally announced the approval of the TV deal, meaning that FSSD does not have the rights to broadcast the Padres games. However, FSSD is operating as if it does/will have the rights by first pitch today (which I also assume it will, MLB would be stupid not to push the deal through.) The flip-side is that FSSD also has not worked out carriage agreements with U-Verse, Time Warner Cable, or Dish, meaning that, according to this article, 42% of the county will be without FSSD on opening day. This is about a 12 percent INCREASE in households without coverage from last year when the Padres were on Cox owned 4SD.
AT&T blew a big chance to pick up angry subscribers from TWC by not working out a deal with FSSD.

From the link to the article in your message:
According to estimates from SNL Kagan, which were confirmed by two sources familiar with the matter, Time Warner Cable paid a monthly fee of approximately $1.45 per subscriber to carry the Padres last year.
If Time Warner’s fourfold increase claim is accurate, the monthly per subscriber asking rate for Fox Sports San Diego is above $5.
As a comparison, the average per-subscriber rate this year for the 35 regional sports networks that SNL Kagan tracks nationwide is $2.50.
Wow! That would make them higher than ESPN which has a carriage fee of around $4 per subscriber. I now understand the negotiations stalemate better.

Yeah what they're asking is pretty ridiculous... FSSD is justifying the price increase by claiming that they're a round-the-clock sports channel while what TWC and the rest were getting before was a channel that basically only showed Padres games and little else. However, their round-the-clock claim is suspect because they're just broadcasting the feed from Fox Sports Primeticket, a LA based RSN that U-verse, Dish, and TWC already carry. Cox did not carry this LA based RSN, which is why they were willing to strike a deal. As far as I know, DirecTV's carriage agreement with FSSD only covers live events, meaning that they will air Padres games, but black out the channel the rest of the time.

If nothing else, you are consistent. First of all, I believe nothing coming from Fox's arch rival here in SoCal, Time Warner. Frankly, I believe nothing from ATT at this point either. Secondly, you forgot to mention that the new channel will have significantly more programming than last year's channel 4 and companies like ATT will be able to replace an existing channel (FS-Prime Ticket) reducing the cost. In any case, within the next couple of months, DirecTV will have taken over the majority of the market share in the region. It's all over now.
Of course, once I make the switch, ATT will come to terms. It is the way of things.

I wonder what it will cost to carry the Lakers next year on the new Time Warner $3Billion channel. This article http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/apr/04/cable-T
