HD Local Channels

It sounds like you CAN get HD at Charter in the basic package you PAY for. At UVerse you have to have U450 to get local HD channels. I am now paying $200/month for decent speed internet and tv...not even phone! The bills have skyrocketed over the past two years after the "new customer" promotions ended. I would get just Showtime (shows I like) but not an option. If you go down to the U300 you also lose local HD. They're trying to get you between a rock and hard place and I'm fed up.

I'm actually looking at antennas and streaming other shows/movies through the appletv, directly from the computer, or maybe another device like Roku plus apps like Crackle, Vudu, etc. (NOT NETFLIX!! NETFLIX PROGRAMMING SUCKS AND I JUST DO NOT, UNDERLINED, GET THE MASS APPEAL!!)

You have been given incorrect information. When you pay the $10 HD fee for whatever level of U-Verse that you are subscribed to, you will get the local channels in HD as well as the HD version of the other channels in your subscription level. You do not need U450 to get the local channels in HD once you pay the $10 HD fee.

By the way, it is not necessary to post in all capital letters. According to what I have been told, posting in this manner is considered to be rude and the equivalent of shouting.

The $10 HD fee is per account. NOT per TV.

The $10 HD fee is INCLUDED (waived) in the U450 package.

Local HD channels are included in all packages.

If you're paying $10 for EACH TV, you are the only one.

If you're NOT GETTING your local stations in HD, you're the only one.

I should have remembered that the $10 HD fee was included in the U450 package since that is the package that I have. I am glad that you caught his mistake about the $10 per television. I completely missed that.

I would hope that dmartin1910 would return to the forum so that he could see that he had nothing to get upset about.

Phil, the moderator, separated dmartin1910's two posts from another older thread in which he was answering a post from four to six months ago. That is why dmartin1910 sounds lke he is talking to himself..

I can't believe that you fell for this again. Once again it' the same poster who has had many names here and just does this to start something and nobody realizes it's just nonsense posts and he or she just wants you to respond in just. pretty sad.

The reason they "fell for this again" is because their intentions are to offer help. If this is a case of one person using different names that is a drag. But the information given by the other subs can, is, and will be helpful to others who read it, and need that info. At least good info comes from it.

Heather: You are probably correct. This "same poster" always uses all capitals in their posts, and the posts are always very angry.We should strive to ignore posts like dmartin1910's post, but it is hard to do so. It is sort of like puting a bone in front of a dog.

Even if it's a trolling post, the correct answers should be posted by someone so that another user who stumbles on the thread from a search isn't misled by the incorrect information.

I agree about others info being helpful but if you do research before signing up then you read something that does not even make sense and you know is not true should be a sign that it is a trolling person and should be ignored and the very next post should say that imo. Just saying!
