I hope we get Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Soccer Plus HD in time for the next Premier League season.....especially when my local team Blackpool won promotion this year from the Championship. Congrats the Pool!!!....they'll bring a lot of color and entertainment to the Premier League next season.

I painfully agree with this.  I love U-Verse.  I love the THDVR, the web access, and I even love the fact that there are a ton of premium channels in HD, despite the fact I only have the U-200 wtih no premium channels.

However, the fact that they don't have NBA TV, MLB Network, MLB Extra Innings, or any of the other "out of market" packages is deplorable.  If they really were big-time, they'd get those channels.  Yes, even the Tennis Channel and Fox Soccer Plus.

I agree.  U-Verse is starting to have a very odd product portfolio with respect to other video competitors.  They charge extra for HD .. unlike many cable operators and now Dish.  And they don't have a lot of sports programming (the ones you mentioned plus Tennis Channel).  Most all cable operators and DirecTV have those channels. 

So AT&T business proposition for sports lovers is to try to get customers to pay more for HD... and now if you think it is okay to pay more for HD then you chose DirecTV or U-Verse.  Now the sports lover choses a provider that has a lot of sports programming (DirecTV) or the provider that has the least amount of sports programming in the marketplace (U-Verse).

I don't get it.  What is U-Verse trying to hang their hat on?  The fact that people love the i-Phone and want to have one provider for all services.  What happens when they lose i_phone exclusivity or when Android make the i-Phone a thing of the past?

            The Southern New England Telephone Company d/b/a AT&T Connecticut (“AT&T”) herein advises the Department of Public Utility Control (“Department”) of the following programming change for AT&T U-verseSM TV customers.

AT&T will be terminating its agreement with the Soundtrack Channel and therefore Channel 538 will go dark on June 30, 2010.  The following day, July 1, 2010, U200 customers will have available the Fox Soccer Channel, which previously was available on tier U300.

I wonder why they would drop it to the u200 package? I'm really considering dropping down to u200 from u300 and getting the sports package (gol tv) instead. You lose a few channels but most are garbage. I guess the most popular would be FBN and CNNI but I might watch them once a month. Then I could hook up with Netflix for my movie needs.

U-Verse is a relatively small MSO as far as households are concerned.

The key for FSI is to get the really BIG MSOs to move FSC from the sports pack to an expanded digital basic tier.

DirecTV in particular is the key MSO for FSI to deal with. So are Comcast and COX.

(Time Warner and DISH Network already have FSC in expanded digital basic.)

FSC needs to get to at least 70 million households by May 2012 in order to justify what FSI paid for the US video rights to the UEFA CL. 

That guy, huhe888 knows about the business of soccer on TV.

I'm guessing that FSC needs to move down more than AT&T (and other providers) need it to move down.  Why they're waiting until July, I have no idea.  Why it's FSC (and not any other channel), I don't know.

I will more than likely cancel the sports pack as soon as FSC arrives in my U-200 pack.

My current bill:

Approx $105 for

18.0 speed internet

U-200

Sports Pack

HD

Second set top box

Various taxes and fees

If I cancel the sports pack:

Approx $95 for:

Consider adding the sports pack and/or premium HD tier during hockey season and NFL season, but only if the offers are good enough.

Keep in mind for your "movie needs," you can take advantage of the current "HBO free for 3 months" offer.  They may have special rates for other movie channels as well.

They tell you that "U-Verse may have lower pricing online," but if you call them up, and say the right things, you can get them to squirm and bend over backwards.

Got the post card in the mail just a few minutes ago, saying that Soundtrack will be gone on June 30th and Fox Soccer Channel will move from the U-300 to the U-200 on July 1st.

I noticed that the Soundtrack Channel's website has been suspended.  I wonder if that channel is heading towards extinction.

I think it's great that its moving to the U200 package for those with that package, however i think i don't think it has any adverse affect or sign that were getting FSC HD anytime soon on U-verse though

To remain competitive in central Florida (for soccer fans, anyway), they better offer it soon...their main cable competitor, Brighthouse, just announced their support.  Given the pricing from Brighthouse, and the fact that Brighthouse is hardly a "cutting edge" provider, I really can't see what is preventing Uverse from adding this combo.

My hope was that if TW/BH has figured out how to carry FSC HD for free (on the basic digital package), and FSC Plus HD on a $4.99 package, that Uverse could do the same.  It seems pretty clear from this that Fox can't be asking too much in terms of fees.

654 has always been available it just dropped down to a lower package. MLB network was never available. I think you might be confused.

The Fox Soccer Channel is not being added.  It is currently in the U-verse channel lineup.  It is simply being moved from the U-300 Package to the U-200 Package.

Well, today is July 1 and AT&T denies ever mailing the postcard you are speaking of. I have spent the last 1.5 hours being told that I imagined or misread the postcard. Unfortunately, I wrote the info on the calendar and threw the card away. I have filed a complaint with the FCC for unfair and deceptive advertising. Anybody got a copy of the card?
