Hopefully someone can help me out, as Im completely out of ideas......
BEFORE upgrading to U-verse on Friday, I had 6Mb dsl with Att for a couple of years, no problems. Got max speed consistently.
I got Uverse installed on Friday, and "upgraded" to the Max package with 10Mb, supposedly.
Well, since the installation, my dl speeds have NEVER risen above 5Mb. Usually they are closer to 3. I have had 2 techs come out and check everything, and they both say its something with my PC. Ive watched both of them unplug the line from my nic, and plug it into their laptops and get full speed right away. both techs say its something with my PC, and i tend to agree with them. but, what could it be? suspecting it was my nic, i diasabled it, and tried connecting through the 2wire usb wireless adapter the 2nd tech gave me. same results. dl speeds arounf 3-4Mb. this morning i wiped my hdd, and did a clean install of XP, and again, the same results. i have verified with ATT that they have indeed switched me to the 10Mb package....ive tried wired and wireless....ive reinstalled XP.....i have no firewall (other than the RG) running.....very little running in the background, since i just re-installed my os....ive watched 2 techs plug my connection into their laptops and get full speed.....and let me reiterate, i had 6MB dsl last week which ran great, but now cant even get close to the 6Mb i had, in fact i get about half that. Im at my wits end, and will be cancelling service tomorrow unless i can get it sorted today. Ive been working/fighting with this since Friday, and have had techs out twice. i just want my old dsl connection back
at least it worked. anyone have any ideas? thx

this might sound crazy but did you, just for grins, turn off the service? Does it have an auto downloader?
blixa...I just did the exact same upgrade as you and the tech just left all's fine...can you get your hands on a new nic card and not use the wireless two way and try again?...next thing would be to post at the Direct Forum on Broadband Reports...http://www2.dslreports.com/forum/sbcdirect...the folks there are on the money...they are the only ones that can see the info your sending them so do post your phone number to them...it might take a little while to get back to you but they will...oh just for the heck of it your nic card is a 10/100 or 100 only or 10/100/1000 not just 10mbps card? hope some/any of this helps you...

If the techs laptops were able to get 10Mb and you can not I would call tech support for your brand computer other than a bad nic or wireless card I have never ran into this
and I have seen some strange things.
