How long until I notice the upgrade?

I just upgraded from Pro (6MB/s) to Max (12MB/s) via the AT&T site.
Is there action I need to take to actually initiate the change in speed?
How long until the speed increase is in place?

Well, I'm still getting 5.77 MB/s according to the two speed tests I've run. Would restarting my gateway initiate the change?

Did the CSR suggest an amount of time the increase in speed will take place? Try doing a hard reboot of your RG by unplugging the ac cable for 30 seconds then reconnect it.

When you log back into your account, which internet package is now reflected on your account? Sometimes there may be a delay in processing of the order.
Did you receive email confirmation of your order number? You can review the orders on your account to see if the last order has completed processing.

Well, it appears that one must go through a checkout process, entering a credit card number and such, before a change is actually initiated. I assumed the speed increase would just happen and that the change in the cost would simply be reflected on my bill. So, nothing has happened. I don't want to enter a card number for this. I just want to have it change on my bill. I guess I'll call and try to get a human to assist with this.

I do not know the details - but, it appears that internet only customers may require different modems at different speeds.
Since texasguy has TV it would be a simple billing change. But, if attomica is an internet only customer, what is the story on modems?

I've never heard of anyone having to enter a Credit Card for a service upgrade. If you are a Internet & TV customer, then your modem would not change. Perhaps you got directed to the wrong Internet service, e.g. ADSL2+ vs your current VDSL2.
