How many MBPS is necessary with u-verse to stream smoothly and down load movies. Is AT&T U-verse worth it at Mbps?

The ATT chart says 18M, but I have no problem at 12M. Sometimes you can get cable internet at a teaser price, but you'll pay for it in the end. ![]()

This depends on what service you chose to stream your content, and the quality of the content they stream. Not to mention what codec your service is using, if your service is device specific so it can buffer larger amounts of data ... For example vudu one can watch full quality 1080p dolby dts flawlessly at a very minimum of around 9 Mbps that is if there is no other network traffic. netflix highest quality tops at around 3mbs (ithink). hulu one can get true 720p but I have no idea about sound quality or bandwidth used.
To be to the point vudu can do the highest quality you could ask for and can do it at around 9 Mbs...

I have the 6mbps/1mbps internet plan, and have no issue streaming netflix in HD. Youtube HD works fine most of the time, but the issue is with youtube's CDN not sending enough bandwidth, not ATT.
