LET ME START OUT BY SAYING I AM CANCELLING AT&T AND WILL BE SHOPPING FOR A NEW INTERNET PROVIDER. I too recently moved and was offered the ATT Uverse Internet as a bundle with Direct TV. It sounded like a good deal so I though I'd give it a try. I have not had one positive moment with the equipment or the customer service. I've had to reset my box everyday and that gets it to work 50% of the time. After multiple calls and the last one lasting 1 hour and 10 minutes, I was transferred to tech support, then to sales, then to retention (who's sole job is to keep their customers happy and enrolled in the service.) The tech support admitted that they have been having many problems with their modem they sent me. It wasn't just my box that was defective, but the Motorola model across the board. They told me Motorola has not come up with new firmware so I am stuck with it. Or they offered me a lower grade/older modem, but coudnt promise me that they wouldnt charge me for it. So again, their solution was to give me a lower grade piece of equipment and charge me more money!!! Then they transferred me to sales. That did not do anything to solve the problem and then trnasferred me to retention. After the 30 minute wait, the "customer service" rep kept trying to justsify why he was right and I was wrong. All the while not providing any solutions to anything.
I have given AT&T a 30 day trial and have chosen to keep looking. With the time they have wasted on my cellular (which is also AT&T) minutes on hold with the customer service rep and the actual time taken away by having to go to a Starbuck's to use the internet, they do not deserve to charge for service this poor.

I rarely had problems with ATT DSL but Uverse sucks, my service goes down about every day. I have to power down the router about 4 times and sometimes it will go back online. I would not recommend Uverse unless you don't need a reliable connection!!! If you happen to get customer service on the phone you'll spend an hour going through the motions of pretending to fix the problem but the next day it starts all over again.

Many people, myself included get good service from AT&T U-verse.
