I have had Uverse for a number of years - initial installation was impossible - but after the first 4 months - all problems were solved. I have three wireless laptops and been using them for quite some time.
Just purchased a trading computer which requires broadband hard line installation becuase of my trading needs.
However, I have not been able to get connected.
I keep getting a message that there is a 651 error.
I was online today with a Uverse Tech for over 1 hour and the problem was never solved.
Despite the fact that all of my laptops are still working, my tv's are still working and all of my phone lines are still working - this tech decided that since he couldn't fix the problem - it must be the modem - so he ordered me a new modum - as these modems control all facets of uverse and the other facets work - I find this hard to believe.
Can anyone HELP?????

When you say "hard line" I'm assuming you either mean an ethernet cable to gateway as opposed to a wireless connection like your other laptops, or a VPN connection.
The 651 error is usually generated by the PPPoE Remote Access Service in Win7 gettting a fault when trying to make your modem connect. Problem is, you shoiuld not be using that service because you do not have that kind of internet access. I beleive what is happening is your new "trading computer" thinks it is the only computer on the network and it is connected directly to an ADSL modem and the computer is trying to tell the modem to connect and provide login and password. Your Uverse modem/gateway does not operate that way. You will need to delete the current internet connection on your trading computer (might be listed as a broadband connection) then run the Internet Connection Wizard again and choose a broadband connection that is "always on".
