I have At&t U-verse and recently, my daughter's laptop wireless internet has not been connecting all of a sudden. It used to work perfectly fine but today it just stopped for no reason. Her laptop is Dell and OS is Windows 7 Home Premium, it comes with a built-in internal wifi. The desktop, which I am currently using, is connected to the router with an ethernet cable and OS is Windows XP SP3. I don't know why this is happening, and I tried to reconnect the laptop to the wireless network, however, my home wireless network was not there! It shows up on my desktop but not the laptop. I checked the router settings to see if the SSID was being broadcasted and it said it was enabled. I also checked if the wireless was on, and it was. It these things were on, why is the laptop not detecting the router? I also noticed that on the actual router, the light for the wireless is not lit. Even if all the other lights are lit up, this one is not? Could that be the problem? If so, how can I fix it? Please, I would like any help possible, I don't know what to do now.
By the way, I'm sorry If I posted in the wrong section. I'm new here so I didn't know..

The wireless light is lit only when a wireless device is actually connecting to the RG.
Are there other wireless networks displayed on this laptop? Also, are other wireless devices able to connect wirelessly to the RG?

Well the thing is, on that laptop, it doesn't display my home network as one of the available/possible networks to connect to. It used to, but now it doesn't. Also, the laptop can see other wireless networks like our neighbors. The laptop can connect to the router through an ethernet cable but the signal is oddly low.

Can any other wireless devices connect to the RG?

Well, my daughter has a Dsi, with that web broswer and I used it to test if it could detect my router but it couldn't either. I also had another wireless laptop, really old, and went to see if it could detect it, it couldn't.

Try unplugging the RG for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in. When it comes back online, see if the laptop can connect to the wireless network.

Have you verified that the Wireless Interface is still enabled on the RG?

Yes, it is enabled. I checked several times and even disabled and re-enabled it.

It sounds to me like the radio has died inside the gateway. Get in touch with Alex and have him arrange to get a replacement on the way to you. That should resolve the problem.

Yea, I think that was it. I got a new replacement and it works all fine now. Thanks for the help both of you.
