We're hoping that your negotiations go well with IFC / AMC. If they don't we'll be Time Warner Cable subscribers after the 14th... Good luck.

Please keep We Channel, this is my favorite channel, I watch Bridezillas, Platinum Weddings, and pretty much all the shows. We have to fight hard for this channel to stay on...We don't need a Tennis channel, there are already enough sports channels.

Wetv is one of the reasons I got the att-uverse package. I watch this channel everyday. I have loved my att-uverse & have reccommended it to everyone. If you take off We & Amc I will stop reccomonding & will try to find another service that provides it.

Ok here is my two cents worth! As far as AMC, WE and IFC - I am not a fan of any of them, but I know others are. The broadcasters want to charge U-Verse more to provide their channel to us. U-Verse, in turn is going to charge US more! It is a simple fact.
If you want these channels, then DO NOT be surprised if your monthly bill goes up. U-Verse is going do the same thing other business does - pass the cost to their customers.
Corporation's do not pay taxes or fees, they simply pass those taxes or fees along to their customers!

I sincerely trust that AT&T will be able to negotiate a good rate as these networks provide excellent programming.

We will switch back to cable if we can't get AMC.
We are not huge TV people, but we are very loyal viewers of Mad Men on AMC. If we can't watch the premiere on 7/31, we will quit U-Verse.
I'm not buying the whole "Fighting 4 you" campaign by AT&T. I have never heard of any cable/TV provider having a problem with Rainbow Networks or AMC. Actually, I have rarely had ANY problem with a cable/TV provider not providing a popular channel PERIOD. AT&T needs to suck it up.

DirecTV? This is a peer to peer forum for AT&T U-verse customers. There has been no discussion of a dispute between DirecTV and Rainbow Media. The dispute is between AT&T U-verse and Rainbow Media.
I posted this somewhere else. I spoke with DirecTV CSR's and was told that this dispute doesn't affect them OR AT&T customers who get D thrrough AT&T.

I don't think we as the subscribers should have to be the ones to lose out. I, for one, will cancel my service with AT&T if they do drop AMC because I have other options and don't need to be bullied like this.

If Uverse cancels these channels I will be force to look for another service. I watch Investigative Discovery every evening and will not continue to pay for a service that does not include this channel.

I hate to loose any channels, but:
I don't watch Mad Men and it seems that is all that is on AMC these days. so...don't care now.
I like WE sometimes.
*****I really enjoy IFC. So, I will be disappointed to loose that one.
From reading other postings, I hope everything is not going to HD. Sounds like I will be priced out of the market soon. I just retired. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

I literally switched to at&t U-verse two days ago and already channels are disappearing. I'm not sure what's really at play here but it's aggravating. One of my favorite shows is on AMC, "Mad Men" and this is happening right before it's due to come back. Cable is expensive enough, I hope they can negotiate a deal where we keep the channel and not get charged more for it. I know.....
How come when cable drops channels we don't get a discount?

Welcome to U-verse!
Do you see a price increase with each channel addition?

Many people on this board are threatening to cancel u-verse service. Huge companies like AT&T do things like this because they know most people will not follow up on these threats. Most customers will simply bend over and take it in order to avoid the hassle of having a tech come out to remove equipment etc... The only way this will change is if people actually make good on their threats and AT&T actually loses a good segment of their customer base. AT&T is banking on our apathy.

Have you looked at the Nielsen ratings for Mad Men? It has a 0.8% share.
The loss of revenue that AT&T (or any other provider) is going to experience from a loss of 0.8% of their customers is quite low, and that's if every Mad Men fan decides to leave.
I know there is a devoted and loyal 0.8% here, but the other 99.2% of people are not really affected and that's what AT&T is looking at.
Remember that those 99.2% of people reluctantly fork over 50 cents per month to support your channel, and don't watch it.

Please do not take away the WE and AMC channels. You have already messed up our daily jigsaw puzzle, yes you gave them back but it's so small I can barely see the pieces. There is no way I want to stay with AT&T with all the program & game changes as well as all the technical problems I've endured since I had it installed. I'm willing to stay with Uverse but whoa don't take away my programs. I watch WE wedding shows most of the day on Sunday. Please again I plead with you to keep these stations. If you have to cut back, take away some of the gem and shopping channels.

I spoke to a representative via chat today and of course the only thing reported was that AT&T is fighting to get a reasonable rate to keep the stations. I hope that they can come to an agreement because I Love Bridezilla and My Fair Wedding, awesome movies on AFC.. really want my stations to remain and at a rate that is included in my packet.

I seem to remember that AT&T was going to try to set up a channel lineup where customers could pay only for the channels they watch. I happen to watch the above and hope they remain with AT&T, or it is an incentive to change providers. There are a lot of channels in the standard (not special language packages) lineup that I don't, or can't watch because there are in different languages, but I have never heard of AT&T being willing to drop any of these channels due to cost.

Do you have a link were AT&T talks about that?
I would certainly be interested in something like that, but I have found that if you try to configure lower packages with add-ons simular to the higher packages, it end up costing more. For example, I have the U450 package, but do watch the Sports Package. If I try to configure the U300 packages to be like the U450 without the Sports Package, it ends up costing more.

Me and my girlfriend watch some our favorite shows id rather I not have spanish stations that I don't speak the language to or the many other channels that the average person will never watch like book tv or the many home shopping channels that try to sell you things that you don't need then to watch something that makes you feel good about watching with the one you love

We enjoy all three of these channels, especially AMC and "Mad Men." Do whatever is necessary to keep these in the channel lineup. We may have to return to DirecTV if AMC,IFC, and WE are discontinued through AT&T.

I left Cox Cable because they were taking channels away and the price was still going up.Amc is a channel I always watch it has old movies that i grew up watching and a lot of times on Saturday they have Cow Boy movies all day.I pay enough money to keep all my channels. It makes me wonder if ATT get to keep the channels how much will they have to pay and how much will it cost us,I can't afford for my bill to go up anymore,We pay 200.00 a month for cable and internet service. Don't make me shop around for other service

These are two of the channels that make ATT/Uverse worth having. Without them, I would be tempted to cancel cable service completely and just watch Netflix. I think it is a particular asset to have access to IFC and the incredible movies available to us on that channel. But AMC is also important to me and I would be terribly disappointed to see either lost in negotiations. Their loss would make me reconsider continuing my service.
I appreciate the opportunity to weigh in on this negotiation.
Sincerely,
A loyal subscriber
