MeTV is broadcast in many markets on a digital subchannel. U-verse does not carry digital subchannels.

why did metv just disappear? are we going to get it back?

ME TV is one of those goofy channels that is in some markets and not others. It's broadcast as a sub-channel in some areas and not in others.
My daughter had it in Chicago a few years ago but we just recently got it here in the Dallas area. In some regions, it's a sub-channel so they might never see it on U-verse.
Whether or not you will ever get it on Uverse is dependent on how it is broadcast in your area.

It's also a "sub channel" in the central Florida markets out of Orlando, so U-verse does not carry it here. I thinks it's time, and I would love AT&T to seriously reconsider the "no sub-channel" policy. Many markets are losing out on more and more channel as broadcasters move some of their channels from discrete channels to sub-channels.

"Why did MeTV disappear?"
MeTV was never part of U-verse's lineup. I gave up hoping that U-verse would add substations in my lifetime. A year ago, I had a roof antenna installed and now I get most of the substations in the L.A. market.

Unfortunately, a roof antenna would still give me only marginal reception of the Orlando stations, and therefore, the sub-channels AT&T doesn't offer. A lot of the sub-channels offer programming such as "MeTV" that is distributed nationwide to broadcast stations. There seems to be no reason why that programming "channel" provider could not also distribute this programming to any cable or satellite provider that wanted to offer it.

This is very strange. When I got Uverse in Dec, WWME and it's sister channel was in Uverse's channel lineup as well as their printed channel guide. We've watched it until they recently dropped it, no warning or anything. The channels are still there but with a message "not available in your area." They ripped them out of their Channel Lineup on the internet. Usually when a channel is gone, it's gone from the tv and the guide isn't still there.
In another post someone from ATT posted there was a contract dispute. Later someone posted a reply from Weigel Broadcasting that there was some equipment upgrade and we'd get the channels back, first those within 20 miles from Chicago then the rest later. Anyone got their channels back yet?
What's really strange is what company suspends service to their customers while they upgrade their equipment? That just isn't done. Imagine the electric company saying "we're upgrading equipment and you won't have electricy for several weeks." Or the phone company saying you'll be without your phone for several weeks while we install new equipment, all without any notice. Wouldn't you think their advertisers would want some of their money back not being on for all Uverse customers in the Chicago area which has 5-6 million people?

In the Atlanta area Uverse dose not carry MeTV. I would love to have this channel also other Uverse users I have talked to would also like to have this channel. There are a lot of great shows I'd love to share with my grandkids! Locally Comcast and Charter carry it in metro-Atlanta, throughout Georgia other cable companies carry it. I've been tempted to change service to get this great channel.
