I've been encountering stuttering on some tracks (random locations), and some tracks quit at random after a while.
(from Audio Books on CD; tracks are typically longer than a music track)
Memory Load is 94%
Only 1 video/DVR recording going on concurrently.
Could that be a reason?
Anyone else having this problem?

I have used MS for about a year. I have not noted any random stutters but then again, I have not played any audio book chapters. I have ran into stuttering and skipping in some audio (music) tracks but they are not random. I find that some music tracks that play just fine on my PC or on my Logitech Portable (WiFi radio) have issues on Media Share. Same stutters, same track, same part of the song on Media Share and I can not explain it 1 in about 300 tracks (obvious guestimation) is effected. If it stutters once, it will stutter again and again.
Do your tracks stutter at the same point? If so, it sounds like my issue. If not, maybe the PC? Are the tracks on a hard drive? Is it a portable one, or on a memory stick? Could the PC be doing something that might slow down the processor enough to make the tracks skip?
Good luck.

Tracks are on a PC harddrive (internal).
Tracks play back fine on the PC.
The problem occurred on the U-verse receiver without the harddisk.
It played fine on the receiver with the hard disk.
I did a Menu, Options, Restart on the receiver without the hard disk.
Memory load dropped 25 - 30%, and the track played back fine.
I have reason to believe a high Memory Load (above 90+% ??) is reponsible for the playback problem(s).
Need more CPU power + memory in these receivers?

I'm not well versed on memory load and such. SomeJoe7777 may have some insight. Is this STB (non-DVR) coax fed? Maybe the coax / splitter is bad? I had freezing on DVR's shows watched on a non-DVR coax box. AT&T fixed the splitter and it was fine.

Yes.
Is there any other way to feed the STB?

Yes Cat 5. They seem to be immune from picture freezing and such. You may want to get SomeJoe's U-Verse "realtime" software and post the results. He can check for inconsistencies with the coax signal.

I thought coax could handle much higher bandwidth than Cat5.
I would need one LONG Cat5 cable ![]()
