NBA TV only in HD!!!

For a couple of months now channel 632 has been what looks like viewing a HD channel on a SDTV!!! Even looks like this on an HDTV!!! It even has the NBA HD logos on the side during some programming! Channel 1632 seems normal! Is anyone else having this problem??! Can anything be done about it like contacting the signal provider??! I've called customer service 3 times in the past abot this with no results because this is the signal that at&t is recieving from NBA TV!!! This is an annoying problem and any help to fix it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Looks like they are doing the 16:9 letterboxing, similar to the way Fox News Channel has done their SD feed for years already.

More broadcasters would be smart to go this way and leave the old 4:3 ratio in the dust. It's actually more efficient, since all that's needed is to rescale in a "straight line", rather than by reshaping, in keeping 16:9.

You could always just get a HDTV ....... saw two at WalMart the other day, both right around $278 for a 32".

Sounds like the HD signal is being down converted for viewing on the SD channel (channel 632). There are a number of SD like this. This is the signal being received. Nothing you can do about it on an SDTV. Watch channel 1632 on an HDTV.
