NY Rangers game blacked out in Ffld. County CT?

Hi,

Here in Norwalk, CT (06851) channel 1706 which is MSG+ has a message saying the Rangers vs. the Senators is blacked out. Why is this? We are in the NY viewing area. It also says the game is on CNBC but there is a different program playing.

Not saying this isn't legitimate, just wondering why. Not as familiar with the blackout rules for the NHL...

I am in Bethel and facing the same frustration.  My husband and I were watching the Rangers game on channel 706 and then got the same "blacked out"message as you.  Don't understand why, especially as we pay for getting these channels.

And after a long wait for customer service, here is their convoluted answer: 

I was able to connect to the concerned department and I am very sorry to inform you that, that particular game is blacked out.

Programming blackouts are requested and determined by a national network (e.g., NBC) or a regional channel (e.g., Fox Sports Southwest), in conjunction with local teams and their corresponding governing league.

AT&T must abide by rules and protect network/league/team rights by airing a TV blackout message during such events.

In some cases, blacked out programs are available to view on an alternate channel in your existing U-verse package.

if the channel broadcaster is not ready to broadcast the game for local areas, AT&T will not be able to provide that gave.

Are You Kidding Me? We live in the NY Metro area and have the NY Ranger games blacked out? Went next door to my neighbors' house who has Charter to watch the game!

Weird. I had checked 1692 before and it said  "no programming scheduled at this time". This time it said the same thing but when I stayed on the channel for more than like 1 second, the game came on.

Still odd it's not on MSG+.
