I bet that's what's in store. Maybe the ability to have more than one DVR in the house, more streams, watching DVR'ed shows on a laptop conected anywhere in the world (or at least USA.) A lot of providers have 50Mbps service and faster, etc.

I was reading an article a while ago...like 2-3 years ago. Basically, once the major providers all hit 100+ HD channels, the race was on to other features, such as Total Home DVR, faster internet speeds, etc.

Yes, that would be correct.
Providers seem to be moving away from adding HD channels in general.
Putting more focus of equipment and software upgrades.
Its nice that they do that but they are mssing the boat. Lots
of subscribers still want new exciting HD programming.
Direc tv has all but said they will not add new HD channels.
They added AMCHD a year ago.

Agree. DirecTV added AMC HD last year and, so far this year, E! Entertainment Television HD. Those have been on other systems for quite some time.
Rolling out HD channels is expensive; so my guess is that providers are waiting for contracts to come up because it benefits them in negotiations.
