I am able to attenuate the loud hum in my telephone by touching one or both of the perforated metal side panels of the RG. I hope there is some other solution to the problem.
U replaced an old style demark with a new one and installed dedicated CAT5 / straight shot wiring to the RG. A single phone is plugged directly into the RG, as is my PC. No other item or phone wire is attached.
Since bodily contact with the RG is not a practical cure, please tell me what U technicians would try. (I have already tried unplugging all the other nearby electronic and electrical gear.)

If it's a cordless phone and sitting close to the RG, move the phone farther away and see if that helps.

PereD - You may have a ground problem that a tech would have to find. You could try grounding the RG. Wire from a metal point on the RG to the center screw holding the faceplate on an electrical outlet.
The RG is fed with DC. If it's a grounding issue, it would be with the equipment connected to the RF connector in the back (the only exposed metal on the RG).
OP: Is the AC cord from the power brick terminating in a two-prong plug or three-prong plug at the wall?
It sounds like you might have an iNID (everything terminates to the box outside) ... try unplugging the battery backup box (remove it from AC power) and see if the hum goes away or changes character. You should have a couple hours, minimum, without AC, and you won't lose any programming.
