Caps suck but to be honest that isn't the only reason I have TW being installed next week. Heck they will cap too but I am hoping with them I will at least be able to stream a movie. I got told in so many words that ATT could care less if streaming Netflix or Vudu didn't work on their network. Nothing wrong on their side but why is it that my connection can't sustain what speed tests show? You can see it happen full bore 17mbps for about 2 seconds then starts to drop rapidly to a crawl.

I am also having problems streaming Netflix, ESPN3, and downloading movies from Directv Cinema. I have used uverse for 10 months with no problems with any video streaming. For the past few days, I have not been able to stream Netflix in HD on any of my devices.

I'am having issues streaming a hdx movie from vudu via my ps3,as of last week it worked great but today I get nothing but buffering and hitching even on sd feed...
I have 18mb down and 1.5 up but when I run a speedtest on my pc I only get 6mb....I feel like i'am being throttled very heavy.

I was one of the ones to report problems earlier on (in feb). problems seemed fixed in march.
but problems back. slightly different. very often get only 1 bar out of 5 (1-4 being standard, 5th is HD). randomly, it will go hd. but otherwise 1 bar, very low resolution.
i didn't change anything at all. very dissapointing.

I agree, yesterday I had bad buffering issues and low speedtest results and today I'am getting proper speedtest results and was finally able to stream my hdx vudu movie.
But thats this morning,I will check again in the evening to see if theres some heavy throttling going on,or maybe uverse was doing maintenance to their servers yesterday preparing for the caps...I hope not,as it is a bad idea on att's part.

It's funny because the speedtest shows 23 Mbps but I can't stream Amazon VOD as I type this. Using the VUDU test, it shows speed lower than 2 Mbps !! Netflix is OK , I get the best quality now but yesterday I couldn't get anything better than SD. Paying for 24 and getting 2 is not fair at all !!!

Would anyone be willing to use this site http://www.connectionanalyzer.com/ and post back their results? I'd love to see what they are getting, If you'd like you can even post screen shots of all 5 tabs so that I can look at them and see if there's anything with the connection that might be causing this issue, and anything we can do about it, or assist with in work arounds to ensure you are able to access this content without issues.

As you can see, things are pretty bad again. This was taken during the day, when my connection used to be very good, close to 18Mbps . It's now around 9 Mbps and later in the evening will drop to close to 2 Mbps. 2 weeks ago it was pretty good, as I told you on my email. I know you are doing some work here in south Florida and I hope things can go back at least to "acceptable".

Just found this thread...it's not just Netflix or other streaming services, it's anytime I download a file that's large enough and takes long enough to start seeing the fluctuations. Speed tests normally come out looking good..but on sites where you can choose a 50 MB or larger file, I will see fluctuations from full bandwitdh (12 Mb/s) to around 100K/ S and back up, over and over. I'm in the St. Louis area, and I have confirmed that other Uverse users in my area are having the exact same issue (people in a 2 mile radius from my house). I spent 3 hours on the phone with tier 2 support on Saturday night and I was basically told that there is nothing apparently wrong.
Up until a few weeks ago my connection was great, I was recommending Uverse to friends. Now, I'm thinking about switching to Charter. Here are shots from the recommended tool. They fluctuate wildy too but here is a typical one. I have a 12 megabit connection.

If I could get this fixed I would stick with ATT because I dislike TW but what's the point of staying if I can't ? Matt I know you helped me and it worked great for about a week but is now as you can see pathetic.

4:46pm test 1: 5.4/.95up, 97% quality of service
4:48pm test 2: 5.37/.95, 97%
4:51pm test 3: 4.56/.95, 59% <--- fluctuations like this happy frequently... hm.
4:52pm test 4: 5.22/.95, 97%
will re-test in a few hours.
have to agree with others that test results often fluctuating wildly. within 5 minutes I can run 4 tests and get results like 5.4, 3.5, 2.0, 5.9mbps. I think the only way to rule out glitches is to run these tests twice a day, several repetitions each time, over 3 days or longer.

Yes they do fluctuate but one thing that is consistent is it shows everytime I am only getting 2-7 mbps. Not anything close to the 18mbps I pay for. It is now worse than before I tried to get ATT to fix it. I can't even watch any streaming without major buffering. Fox,msnbc, etc are completely unwatchable. My speedtest show 16-17 mbps but this Visualware's Connection Analyzer test shows what I actually experience.

This is a snapshot taken at 9:00 PM. Interesting that the available speed also has reduced from 28 to 17 Mbps. Download speed dropped a little but it was already low during the day.

Interesting. My speedtest used to agree with the real download speed. Not anymore. Using my next server, Miami, it always shows 22 Mbps but the real download speed from several different sites inclusing Amazon,Netflix,Apple,Sony and others are much much lower, sometimes below 3 Mbps with absolutely nothing else being used on the network.
My scenario has changed. I used to get a very good and very stable connection during the whole day, from 1:00 am to 7:00 PM. The speed would then drop dramaticaly , always below 8 Mbps , during the evening. The current situation is different : Speed goes from 18 to 2 Mbps during the evenings but also drops during the day. It's not stable at all. In my view, speedtest now means nothing. The best I could get with this Connection Analyzer was 9 Mbps and I trust this is the real deal.

This is very rare that speed test agrees. Most times it shows 14-17mbps. If you look at the graph at the bottom it shows a bit more in terms of how stable. Most times it will start out blazing fast then drop to nothing. These tests show consistent changes. When I had no problems the graph was consistent with no peaks or drop offs.

Another evidence of some sort of overloading on the network: Today my speed is OK, Netflix site has been down for many hours now. Too many people streaming video can be a potential cause of our ordeal. I bet when Netflix is up again tomorrow the speed will be much lower.

Could there be a problem with the Visualware site test that Matt has directed us to? I have the 12/1.5 service and using Speedtest I always get right around 11.4/1.4. Also when downloading my speeds seem to be what I am paying for. But for the past 3 days since Matt posted a link to the Visualware site I can only get a test result from Visualware of 7.75/1.48 55%. If I go back to Speedtest my results are back to what I should be getting.
Is there a possibility that the Visualware test is wrong and is reporting low download results? If Visualware is correct than I'm not getting what I'm paying for either. 7.75 down on a 12mb service is poor.
