New World Cup Channels

In Dallas, I notice the new channels listed below.  Apparently, these will be used for World Cup coverage.

619 - ESPN

620 - ESPN2

621 - ESPN Deportes

622 - ESPN World Cup Portuguese

623 - ESPN World Cup Japanese

624 - ESPN World Cup Korean

625 - ESPN World Cup Arabic

626 - ESPN World Cup German

The press release below mentions that there will be a World Cup multiview app.  There will be both an SD and HD version (channel 618 and channel 1618), so expect some more channels to also be added.

Outside of the obvious differences in the languages, I guess this could be helpful in the 3rd game of the group stage when the two games are simultaneous... though typically they update the other score constantly if not perma-placing the score in a corner.

Why would you think that anyone cares about your opinion about soccer or mlb. This thread is about some temporary channels for the world cup.

The world Cup = Soccer.   Soccer sucks.   Period.   We don't need multiple channels for something as stupid as soccer...we just got some sort of soccer channel added to U200 that these fools can watch.   [text removed - keep it courteous]  As I said above, give me MLB network and I will be excited, More soccer channels...not excited at all.

I noticed they put Univision and Telefutura on channels 2999 and 3000. I wonder if they are putting them there since all the Spanish channels start on channel 3003 or this is temporary for the World Cup.

I hope they keep them there and eventually move Telemundo and TV Azteca also. Since now AT&T added Univison and Telefutura in HD (channels 1008 & 1017). I hope they add Telemundo which is in HD on air antenna.

They just added several HD versions of Spanish channels in Fairfield today.  Channel 41 and Channel 68.

I hearby state that Uverse is awful and you should add channel 47.  If you don't I will make an empty threat to leave Uverse for **bleep** Cable.  Whoever is reading this should be able to add channel 47 at the flick of a switch.

And in West Palm Beach we are not getting Univision HD either, just the extra Univision in 3000!

Brian, reboot your STB and see if 622 - 626 show up. I know those are available in WPB... you may not be getting notifications to your STBs.  You can do the soff reboot via the menu or a hard reboot (unplug it).

Was reading the morning paper today and it was written that ESPN 3-D channel is being activated for the World Cup and will be carried on AT&T Uverse....beginning tomorrow (Friday).   Guess what?  It will cost ya $10 extra for access to this 3-D channel.  Sorry, the channel number was not mentioned in the article.

Edit: Just spotted another thread on this ESPN 3-D channel.  Sorry...did not see it earlier.
