What can we do to make AT&T understand how serious we are about wanting this channel?
I got a major run-around on the phone about this.
First two calls to mention it were hung up on immediately after mentioning the channel.
Second two calls were both transferred to billing.
When I did get ahold of a techinical support "specialist" he told me to just check my DVR. I explained to him that I was calling because it was not available on my channel list and requested to speak to a manager. He then told me that his manager didn't know what the channel was either and that I had to look it up online. He wouldn't even let me speak to the manager.

What is up with AT&T U-Verse not having Disney Junior available?
Unbelievable
Families with young children need to have the Disney Junior channel now that they will be separating it from the regular Disney channel.
Edit: This post must have been moved here from a new thread I had started.

It has been over a year since Disney announced that they would be replacing the Soap Network with Disney Junior. For AT&T not to have the channel available from day 1 is a major fail.

Disney Junior should be put in with almost all the channel line-ups. This will be a major channel for anyone with young children. This will be way more popular than the other channels like Qubo. Putting it in only the higher tier lists would be another major mistake.

Bright House, CableVision, Time Warner, Verizon and Xfinity already carry Disney Junior the channel and let's face it I've never heard of 3 of them (Bright House, CableVision and Xfinity). If television providers I have never heard of can carry such a prestigious channel I am a little confused as to why AT&T doesn't carry Disney Junior. My 2 children like Disney cartoons more than Nick Jr cartoons, and I have no use for qubo or the hub since my oldest child is only 4...I as well as other parents with young children need more options for little ones to watch!

I just got off the phone with U-verse though and as far as I could tell, they don't know if they are going to carry Disney Jr. so I'm not as confident as you are in this resolution rt...but I appreciate your enthusiasm and hope that we will in fact get Disney Jr. ![]()

I heard from a friend that it will be available soon and it would be the channel that comes after the Hallmark channel and just before the NHL network channel. Oh, wait....nevermind....

I have to agree...we are huge fans of AT&T's uverse but I think someone really dropped the ball on this one. My kids were so excited about the new channel and news shows, only to be dissapointed to find out they won't be able to access them. We are extremely dissapointed with the sales team for not being on top of this one.

No real reason to be disappointed, it will be carried in time. As of today, only 5 TV providers are carrying the new channel: Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, Verizon FiOS and Cablevision. According to the article below, the new channel is available in 30 million homes.
SoapNet is still available in 45 million homes. As SoapNet is fazed out, more TV providers will pick up the Disney Junior Channel.

Try reasoning with a 4 year old when they can't watch the new channel that they are constantly seeing advertised and now carries the shows they watched before on the other channel. They get VERY disappointed. They don't understand "in time..."
As the article says, this channel is already available in 30 million homes, so AT&T Uverse should have been on top of this major event. This was not a surprise, it has been known about for over a year.
Since you might not be an avid Disney Junior programming watcher, I will try to put it in perspective you might understand. I have a pretty good feeling that if all the Texas Rangers' baseball games televised would suddenly be changed to a new channel that is already made available on your local competing cable service but Uverse decides not to make the channel available and you are told maybe after July or August, you would be pretty disappointed.

I have a 3yo and while it would be nice to have Disney Jr. we aren't losing any sleep over not having it since all the shows he watched before is still on. We even recorded the new Doc McStuffins for him yesterday. Since Disney Jr is only available on a FEW providers right now and only a couple of major ones, those that are threatening to leave to go to Dish or Direct will be extremely dissapointed. For those that are in a Cox cable area will be dissapointed. As of yesterday only TWC, Verizon and Comcast Xfinity customers have it for major providers, minor providers Cablevision and Brighthouse also carry it.

The Disney Junior programming block is still being aired on the Disney Channel. Your 4 year old is not missing anything.
Maybe you can use this situation to teach your 4 year old something that is so lacking in our world today: patience.

Who specifically told you that AT&T and Disney have begun negotiations? Was it from a fellow U-Verse subscriber on this forum or someone who is actually involved in the negotiations? If it was from another U-Verse subscriber, that would mean nothing unless they were also employees of AT&T.
No doubt negotiatons have gone on or are still going on, but you seem to indicate that you have a specific source.

No one told him. This is the same guy that constantly posts unsubstantiated rumors and innuendo that have no basis in fact. He was the one responsible for spreading around the ridiculous notion that all the Viacom channels were going to be dropped.
Don't feed the trolls.

As has already been pointed out: a)the fact that the new Disney Junior channel has been coming is over a year old and b) over 30 million other households already have access to the channel from other major and minor cable companies (including both Time Warner Cable and Comcast Xfinity).
Therefore, AT&T Uverse not making the channel available is absurd. This has nothing to do with how or what I teach my kids, it has to do with a major cable television provider dropping the ball and not keeping up.
Perhaps I would have been more understanding if the customer service provided by AT&T was better regarding this. As I mentioned before, the first two times I called and asked about the channel I was immediately hung up on. The next two times I was transfered to billing who couldn't help me. When I did finally get a customer service rep who was supposed to be able to help me with channels, I was told to check my DVR and then when I asked to speak to his manager he refused to transfer me and told me to go check the internet. And, when I called back again only asking to speaking to a manager, the manager told me they had never heard of the channel and tried to sell me a subscription to on-demand programming.
The new channel is not new news. The failure of the customer service reps to provide any knowledgeable responses (even if it was just that they are working on adding ths channel in the near future or somethig similar) was downright insulting and unprofessional.

Since U-verse not having the Disney Junior Channel is a major issue for you, you should switch to one of the provider who is currently carrying the channel (Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, Verizon FiOS and Cablevision). Don't switch to a provider that is not on that list because those providers are in the same group along with U-verse who have dropped the ball and not kept up with those providers on the list.

I've read the face book page and the poor AT&T rep on the page says that as of right now there is no intention of carrying the channel. Now, I will take it with a grain of salt since AT&T does not discuss on going negotiations, but please stop misquoting an open source.
