Not getting Basic Channels.....

HELP!! How can I get an issue resolved? I am in Fresno, and have had UVerse for about six weeks. For the last two weeks, I have been trying to get two channels that, it would seem, everyone else in Fresno gets. From U100 up. I am a U400 subscriber. I have called Tech Support, tiers 1 and 2, Billing and even emailed the AT&T escalation team. So far I am getting little but excuses. I cannot get channels 770 & 771, Comcast Sports Net Bay Area and CSN Bay Area Plus. I have been told the situation is being researched, but that's it. The latest lame excuse is that CSNBA doesn't want the games broadcast to my Zip Code. They didn't mind when Comcast was the one broadcasting it. I am getting very tired of this situation.

Anybody have an answer?

Have you tried contacting CSN-Bay Area yourself to see if they have any information?

Read your own post, Comcrap wants their own SportsNet only on Comcrap, is that really surprising to you? That is standard operating procedure for the Roberts family.

Call or email the administrative offices for the channels that you think you should be getting. Give them your ZIP and ask them if they are your home regional sports network (RSN). If they say yes, then tell them that you are a Uverse subscriber and they are not giving you access to the channels.

Fighting this from the customer side as well as the provider side seems to be the way to go if you're looking for results. Calling just AT&T about this type of situation has led nowhere for most folks.

Untrue. CSN Chicago is available on U-Verse, DirecTV, Dish Network, etc.

Bingo. Comcast SportsNet channels are carried on multiple providers all over the country.

People assume that "Comcast SportsNet" means the channel is owned by Comcast (just as people assume that FOX owns the "FOX Sports Net" channels). Not so. In many cases Comcast has only a small minority ownership; in a few, it's not much more than a glorified sponsorship deal. More often than not, the local sports teams own large chunks of the channels and, believe me, want them available to as many people as possible.

More likely the original poster's problem is due to some kind of zip code/availability problem/bug, which could be on CSN's side or on AT&T's side. Keep escalating this until you have it resolved; if you can get the channel via Comcast, you should be able to get it via U-Verse.
