Does anyone know whether U-Verse will get the same (or similar) set of channels that Comcast offers. We are sorely lacking BBC America on-demand amonst other channels. In addition we do not have access to our schools local channel (Walled Lake TV in South East Michigan).
I think that if U-Verse wants to compete with Comcast it should offer these and more.
On a pragmatic note, does anyone know how to go about requested these channels offically from AT&T?
Thanks in advance

I doubt it, Comcrap and the other cable giants have a stranglehold on the on Demand content and are not about to let
their competitor ATT Uverse get ahold of it. As to the local access channel, contact the channel directly as the CS reps
generally don't know what you are talking about if you call ATT to request them. Regular channels call and request that
you want them added, that's about as official as you can get here. ![]()

An informal thread was started where people are posting channels that they would like to see U-verse add. Some AT&T employees do seem to monitor the forum from time to time.

IIRC, Uverse only accepts video for the local channels in a specific format and many organizations are not properly equipped to provide it. If enough people request, they may spend the money needed to get on board.

Wait, I wondered why BBC America wasn't on demand and I read this post about Time Warner and Comcast and the network is working to add more access. Then I check the date of the post and its May 2009! What kind of bullcrap is ATT trying to pull? I watched BBC when I had Comcast and I know they had more shows besides Top Gear and Star Trek. ATT really should be ashamed. If they're this lame, maybe I should return to Comcast. At least I could see everything on demand.
