Does anyone know if there is any way to edit the menu options? I have already set up a PIN to keep my kids from renting movies, but they can still navigate to the "Adults Only" menu, from which they can easily go to the "By Category" option which gives them such wonderfully descriptive options as "Xtreme", "Forbidden", and "Group Sex". Does anybody know any which way that I could prevent this altogether? The Customer Support technician I chatted with said that there was not really a way to block the menu options. Any help at all would be appreciated!

Are you trying to protect them from seeing those words even thought they can't rent any movies in those categories?

Yes. I have no desire to have to explain what Group Sex is to a 10 year old. Frankly, I could live with the words "Adults Only" showing up on the menu, if you had the option to require a PIN to navigate beyond that point. Surely that can't be too difficult for AT&T to implement!

I understand your concern. I have a 10 year old daughter who I definitely don't want to be exposed to the adult section. Unfortunately I haven't heard of a way to block that menu so I made it really clear to her where she can and can't go looking. And the cost of disobeying is not worth the looking at those menus. I am not saying this is working perfectly, but I regularly check her on this as well as other priveledges she is enjoying right now.

I have the same concern regarding the adult-oriented titles that popped up when my daughter was searching for a TV show using the word "girl"!!! I just set up the parental controls disallowing a bunch of stuff but it unfortunately has no affect on the search results. I agree with a previous commenter that it would be nice if AT&T could have the searchable database adhere to the prescribed restrictions in the first place.

You are able to hide the "Adults Only" titles. Under "Options > Parental Locking" scroll down to option 6 of 6 called "Adult programs" and select the "Change" button and click "Lock adult programs".
The caveat I have found in doing this is that it removes the "Turn of Locking" button from the main "Parental locking" screen which disables your ability to temporarily unlock all lock channels for 4 hours. Even if you're scrolling through the guide and choose a locked channel, you're only presented with option to unlock that single channel.
Removing the "Lock adult programs" lock brings back this functionality. Seems to be a bit of a bug.

You are the first person who has provided a solution for that. Kudos given.

We just got Uverse last week.... DVR+2 rooms +Phone +Internet.... It's all coming out next week if possible! Fantastic functions, picture, internet, etc. But AT&T is no family friendly. They are forcing the smut into the home of every subscriber. They have no problem destroying individuals and families with the porn. We are real disappointed in losing the service and the value. But we just can't have the porn categories and the explicit descriptions of the other VOD movies display

Did you bother to read the solution to that problem in the posts above, or are you just here to rant and rave for no reason?
Go to the parental control menu and lock the Adult Programs like the post above says, and all the titles will be hidden.
Boy, the trolls sure are out in force lately ...

The solution in the posts above only address part of the problem, and I had already taken care of that before my original post. Turning on the parental locks does block out the titles of the movies and their accompanying pictures, but it does not block out the category descriptions, and that's where my complaint lies. If AT&T would simply move teh PIN check to be just as soon as you click on "Adults Only", then the problem would be solved.

I will have to check on that when I get home from work, because I don't remember anything questionable being visible when I tested it, but I will look again.

i don't think you were talking to 'AngryDad' anyway were you?
You were talking to 'Mr.. Family values' who said ATT wants to destroy families
with porn so he was having it burned at the stake right?
I agree with everyone on the not wanting to explain 'group sex'
that's getting a little too specific in the porn menu don't you think?
However.. No families will be destroyed
Just some TMI before we're ready to give it.
Thanks for the solutions.. Now if the darn parental controls
could shut off by time like Direct TV I'd be a happy mom.
