Hogwash. If anything, switching providers is almost always likely to save you money, since you will always get the time-limited introductory rates from the new provider. As far as it being a hassle, that's a prime example of the generational problem I was referring to earlier:

Oh my Lord, you mean I'd have to put forth some effort to get what I want? The nerve of AT&T. Why doesn't everyone realize that I'm supposed to get exactly what I want without lifting a finger? When did this work requirement get in my way?

so, no complained is allowed about an obvious misdirection by ATT on the Braves issue? both the customer service rep i spoke to over the phone (before switching from cable) and the guy doing my instillation said i would still get all the braves games. what is the purpose of this forum if you should only post love letters about ATT? i've only had it a week and im ticked off. gonna hate crawling back to Charter, but i'll do it if i have to miss a third of the braves games.

I'm just stating that I personally would find other courses of action that endeavor to solve the problem rather than just note it.

This is the U-verse peer to peer customer forum. We are customers, not AT&T employees. What good does it do to complain about missing Braves games to your fellow customers? We can't do anything to give you what you want.
By the way, the purpose of this forum is allow customers to help other customers resolve issues, share information and get the most out of their U-verse service. Fulfilling your programming requests is outside of the scope what we can do.

Well, your response is very helpful, but you too seem full of it. I actually don't have a problem, I was simply asking a question. As I indicated earlier, I'm new to this and haven't been going back & forth since '08. Thanks for not sugar coating!

To all those playing devils advocate. I for one enjoy the full complement of Uverse service. I enjoy the whole house DVR which was not provided to me by Comcast. I also enjoy the online management of my DVR. I have not tried DirecTV or Dish, which are my only other options that offer similar Uverse features. That is why I am trying to convince my provider that I want to see all the Braves games like the other providers offer. Their competitors that provide similar service appear to want to keep their customers by providing the feed.
I have not read this forum enough to understand that this is a peer to peer forum. I found it by googling the topic. It is listed under the AT&T web site with the A&T logo. This could contribute to why others have the confusion it is an AT&T monitored forum. Given that it is a peer to peer site, maybe my peers could suggest solutions instead of correcting other misunderstanding and misconceptions. Of course other than, you don't like it leave it. I feel that if you do not ask, you will never know. And most with a business sense should know it is easier and cheaper to keep a current customer than to go out and find a new one. Some where in this thread, I gave the only solution I have been able to remotely hope will help. That is to fill out the new channel request, even though this is technically not a new channel.
I believe that as a customer, it is our right to demand services. How else will AT&T know what their customers want and/or why their customers choose another provider. This should be the feedback they want. If not, they are an ignorant business and will ultimately fail. So I completely agree with using forums and social media to pressure your provider to recognize your requests and hope that they will answer them, preferably with a yes or at least with a no so you know you were heard. Then I can move on to another provider that may not offer similar features but will offer the content I desire.

I forgot to also mention that there was a proposal to mention the lack of the broadcast on Uverse to local sports talk shows or other such. That was the only other provided solution to the dissatisfaction by some of the posters, myself included, that would like to see the broadcast on Uverse. I think it is also a good solution to make AT&T address this issue.

Someone should send an email with a link to this thread to whoever that makes these decisions at At&t, then send it to their boss. How dumb that they have an official fourm yet they don't read a single thing in it, incompetentcy.

Hey look at the plus side, AT&T saved us from having to watch them lose last night. So I guess that is kind of a plus!?!?

For years, my wife and I were subscribers to DirecTV. The onlt reason being that cable did not come out our way. We were very happy during the summer, watching the Atlanta Braves on Fox Sports South, Sports South and (recently) PeachTree TV. Last year AT&T installed U-Verse in our area, and we got rid of the dish. Now, I wish we hadn't. We can still watch the Braves on FSS and SPSO, but AT&T has, evidently, elected not to carry PeachTree TV. That means we miss over half the games during the season. I've decided that, if AT&T won't carry PeachTree TV, then AT&T won't have my business next year.

My guess is that pmaxhen lives in the most northern part of South Carolina. According to the MLB Blackout map, he is in Braves territory for their own telecasts (even with the Peachtree TV simulcasts being blacked out).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:MLB_Blackout_Are
However, the MLB on Fox map for today shows that the most northern portion of South Carolina gets the Yankees-Red Sox game. One map has nothing to do with the other. The other parts of the two maps seem almost identical if I am not missing out on something.

After promotional rates run out in 24 months, price will be about the same. You do have to agree to 24 month contract.... but I'm not too concerned about that part.
Make the switch folks.... Don't miss 1/3 of the season.

Good luck with your DirecTV. Not everyone wants or can get satellite TV service.
By the way, all TV providers, including DirecTV, have their shortcomings.

The channel owners, including Fox Sports South, continue to ask for significant increases in carriage fees whenever a contract needs to be renegotiated. The channel owners continue to use the customers of the TV provider as pawns by stirring up fears of the loss of their favorite programming and making the TV provider look like the bad guy in order to get the customers to put pressure on the TV provider to give them what they demand. The increased fees are eventually passed on to the customers of the TV provider in the forum of higher fees. Oh, joy!
The only thing that surprises me is that customers continue to allow themselves to be used as pawns in the game as their monthly fees continue to increase.

With that said, I can fully understand your fustration in this thread texas guy even if I am partly to blame. It is a fustrating deal for everyone but the channel providers and in the end, they make money from us and advertising. It's almost scandalis when you step back and look at the big picture.

I find it kind of funny that one of the largest sponsors of the braves are too cheap to broadcast all the sportssouth games. I was told by sports south that att only bought part of the braves package and do not carry all the weekend games. Previously, I had direct tv and they broadcast all the games.

It is getting down to the wire and the Braves are fighting to hold on to the Wild Card lead while trying to topple the Nats for the East lead. Unfortunately the AT&T Uverse fans will not get to see any pivital weekend games, unless picked up by national coverage. Let's pick this thread back up and let AT&T know we do not enjoy the online play by play update on MLB.com, or whoever is your choice of play by play coverage. We need our Braves for all 162 games a year, not just the 117 AT&T currently allows their customers. I know it is probably too late this year, but maybe we can sway some opinion for next year.
GO BRAVES!!!!

Don't worry, you'll get to see him in the wild card game, before he and the Braves lose to the Cardinals in his last game...
