How long have you have the U-verse service and what package do you subscribe to?
Paid Programming shown on a channel is decision made by that channel not the by TV provider. It's a way for that channel to generate some income to help offset their costs.

You have the right to "dump cable and go back to antenna" television. You do not have a contract with U-Verse that limits your options. Call U-Verse, and have the service disconnected tomorrow.
I prefer cable and all of its variety of programming, family or otherwise.

The over the air broadcast channels (free television) have plenty of PAID PROGRAMMING on Sunday mornings and at night. It is not limited to just cable channels.

If you lose HGTV the food channels DIY networks I am gone. If I have to go back to Dish network at least HD channels are FREE not an additional fee each month.

I think FX, AMC, and TMC are worth posting and requesting they be kept on. For me I watch those channels more than the ones that are leaving. This solely my opinion and is not intended as a statement to or about anyone who posts and desires other channels that have, or may be dropped.

Hi! This is my first post here as a new customer. I left DISH some time ago and a main reason was the continual messing around with the channels. I see that DISH may lose FOX. Heaven help them with the football season in full swing. I hope U-verse isn't going to follow in the DISH model. I guess my next switch would be to DirecTv if this service doesn't work out.

I just wanted to get it out there that my family watches the food network and we would not be happy to see it discontinued. Also I was assured that the NBA channel would be added for the NBA season. Is that true or is ATT just blowing smoke?

Is it true? No official word that I'm aware of.

Maybe ATT U-Verse should post these notices somewhere online or on an announcements channel. We are brand new subscribers and had no idea that these channels were in jeopardy. New customers don't get old postcards. If it weren't for this forum, we would not have known the channels were in jeopardy.

They are posted online. See the link below.

Thank you for that link...It would be nice if it were included in the startup package. Otherwise, how are subscribers supposed to know it's there? On DirecTV, we got messages on the receiver about where to find that kind of information. I looked around the various menu items on my U-verse receiver and didn't see anywhere that such an announcement would appear.

Who lost their minds at ATT? we got a postcard indicating that they were potentially replacing DIY, Cooking, Food Network, HGTV and Outdoor channels? If they go, we go. We watch more of those channles than any other. I'd hate to lose uverse, but that would put a huge hole in our entertainment selections I don't want to do without.

No one lost their minds at AT&T. The only mind-losing folks are the inpatient folks who do not understand how FCC mandated carriage notification rules work and the anti-AT&T type.
When negotiations between channel providers and delivery providers (AT&T, Dish, Comcast and so on) are within 30 days of expiring, the delivery providers are required by law to inform users in writing that they are within the 30 day negotiation window. I believe Comcast put this information on the notes part of the bill.
Yes these channels are important in my household too (more so than Hallmark) so it may be a deal breaker BUT I believe that they will negotiate a fair deal with them. Please be advised - all providers have this issue and Comcast, Direct, Time warner and the like are not exempt from this scenario.

One thing I haven't seen on HGTV, DIY or Food Network - and my household watches those channels about 60-70% of the time is the crawler or constant barrage of "hey your provider is going to force us to pull these stations" like there was for AMC and Hallmark and Hallmark Movie Channel.

This is ridiculous. We just signed up less than 2 months ago for U-verse and I love the service but am sick of receiving these mail notifications every month that more of the channels are being deleted. I don't know why the costomer service representatives refer you to the channel line-up as you initiate services when that changes monthly. As of November, I'm paying for a service that will be discontinued. The food network, cooking channel, and HGTV are my favorites. If these aren't continued I find no reason to continue with U-verse. What a dissapointment and fraudulent advertising when signing contracts that lock you in for a year. I expect to sign a contract for a year and have the same channels throughout the year as when I signed the contract on day one. I'm not impressed with how they are continuing services.

Please go back and re-read your notice. It does not say that those channels will be deleted.
Also, if the channel lineup changes monthly, it is because U-verse is constantly adding new channels to the lineup.

You seem surprised that the lineup may change, but everything changes. Restaurant menus, stock prices, brands on store shelves, car models--it goes on and on. If these channels that are important to you are lost, you may see the need to change providers. But keep in mind that all channel lineups with all providers are dynamic, with frequent changes. As texasguy has said, also keep in mind that a lot of changes are channel additions. Hope you find something that suits your needs.

I wonder how many Dish network customers are stating they will cancel...how many Cablevision customers are threatening to find another provider..???????
I am an AT&T employee and the postings on this site are my own and don’t necessarily represent AT&T’s positions, strategies or opinions.

In the case of Dish, I would leave if I lost my Fox Sports Net and Fox Broadcast. Between college football and the NFL, yeah, you could color me gone.

If these channels are lost so will this customer. I will disconnect my service as of November 1 unless you reach an agreement.
