AT&T - I am extremely frustrated with the Uverse product. We continue to have problems with pausing during our shows - a problem I have called several times about. And then today - WITH NO WARNING - I find out we are losing one of our FAVORITE channels - The Food Network. You have a product that is failing my friends. I have been a long time LOYAL AT&T customer - for home phone, internet, wireless and Uverse. I am now contemplating leaving AT&T because of this. FIX THIS ASAP!!!!

To AT&T: I pay AT&T for cable TV service . . . . ALL of it. You take away my favorite channels and then tell me to call SCripps? It is not my problem; it is yours! You have contracted to provide me with service including Hallmark, Food Network, HGTV, Cooking Channel & DIY. Now my service is incomplete. Fix the problem NOW!!!! These channels represent at least 50% of my viewing time so if you can't provide them I should get a 50% refund. That probably won't happen so I guess you are telling me to go back to Comcast or whomever can provide these channels. Scripps says money is not the issue and that AT&T wants other rights in new markets. You should be worrying about your OLD markets before you loose them. This is ridiculous!! Provide the service or GET OUT of the business. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING OVER THERE!!! How dare you eliminate such popular channels and then blame it all on another company and cost issues. YOU LIE! FIX IT NOW!

I agree to all the previous comments concerning the missing channels. Get it fixed or I'll be looking else where for cable service...and computer....and telephone. I do think the bill adjustment was a fair idea.

I'm so upset about the loss of channels, I'll post emails anywhere I can find a opportunity to post. I couldn't find a way to email AT&T directly. If they are smart they should be auditing this forum. Sorry for the interruption in your peer-to-peer conversations, but AT&T did a really bad thing that enraged a lot of people and there is no way to communicate directly with them quickly.

I have been happy with U-verse services until now. However, if Scripps channels are not restored, I will be changing carriers. These are channels that I watch frequently.
I am also very unhappy that I did not receive direct notification from AT&T regarding the situation and the loss of service. The U-Verse site still shows these channels in their channel lineup as well. This is misleading and should be considered a breach for new consumers.

Plus I will be calling and requestiong "credit" for the failure to provide service. Since there was NO formal notice, you dropped the ball and I should not have to pay.
Postcards were sent out in Sept. as required. Can't help it if you threw it away or didn't read it. As for credit, credit for what? Where does it say that they will guarantee any channel be provided?
Get real.

Really !!!!! ?? So the Customer is not your real reason for operation. Do you want to know More.
To make money off the everyday working citizen. Maybe even Show the lack of respect to the American Family.
So, lets just say it . I Dare you (AT&T) to do your job or give the money we pay back. No we don't need any of that finger pointing.
Just toe the line.
Stand up and be counted.
You have to risk it, to get the biscuit.
Just do it. You know the JOB.

Recently the Hallmark channel was dropped and I got a lot of grief from my wife. Of course AT&T said they were working for us but to no avail. Now it looks like DIY, the Food channel stations are heading in the same direction. If something is not worked out in the next week we are heading to a new direction/service. Figure it out AT&T before everyone leaves.

I figure if they can arbitrarily yank channels, I can arbitrarily cut my payment. What are they going to do - shut me off. Then I will have a bigger reason to go back to Comcast...

It's simple, you take the channel away, then refund what ever that channel costs me monthly. I already get TLC, I don't like country and I would like to watch some cooking shows of MY choice. I realize they have it in the contract that this is subject to change. Well, then if you change it drop it and refund the $$$.
I bumbed up a whole tier to get the Speed channel and was willing to pay for those extra channels by MY choice. Since Speed is nearly one or two shows only, NASCAR and Pinks All Out, and you have taken 4 channels away because one of the two parties is greedy, then I think I will help you in the morning and call Time Warner. I'll drop you like you dropped me with no appreciation.

I've been reading many of these posts for the last 30-40 minutes or so, since my initial stroke moment of discovery - my brand new missing channels. I LOVED my Uverse TV...until I realized that all the promo material they sent absolutely did not apply to my region and one of my most beloved channels, AMC was not included. But, then we finally got it. BUT now, a few of my other beloved channels are gone.
I'm trying to understand this clearly, and I do not want to go back to Charter, because I truly believe Charter exists only to spread evil in the world, but AT&T Uverse, you are killing me here. Customers who are happy are cusomters who stay put. I think the features they have are awesome. However, I think even they must know that in spite of all the lovely channels, there are some that pretty much mainstays for folks. Are they just poor negotiators? What would they do if CNN and whatnot (Turner Networks?) told them no? Or, even though I could care less, MTV and VH1 channels? Would they continue to "look out" for me as a customer?
I'm not looking for a higher bill for more channels, its kind of what they are supposed to do, make more deals. I'm not looking for a lower bill for fewer channels, sometimes companies get rid of their stuff anyway. But since they supposedly are looking out for my best interests, find some better negotiator, or for real, look at the projections. I hardly believe that accepting terms or renegotiating other parts of the contract terms would result in them going bankrupt.
I will probably call and get numbers from other providers, but I cannot deny that the wireless service I get as well as my TV service are great. The usage of the DVR alone is above and beyond what others can do. But there have been more than a few issues, that make me want to move on, and not have the other luxuries.

Time warner has not taken off channels I know because my whole family has Time Warner and they have never experienced what we have, first you take off Hallmark and then you take off HGTV, FOOD,Cooking,GAC, DIY. In reading the reply from Scripps, it is not about money you(AT&T want the rights to the videos I am going to cancel my At&t AND run to Time warner. Also, why were we not notified of this, all of a sudden I turn on 452 and I see Bravo. saying that you are giving us other channels in place of the one you took off, I already have these channels. I am so @?#?@? at you and if this is not back on in 3 days I will cancel.
I cry BS, I've had Time Warner and they have gone through the exact same thing. No provider is immune. Comcast will cave in and pay more than what a service is worth and raise customers rates, Dish just got many Fox affiliate stations back, Cablevision has had many disputes this year alone. The list goes on.

Let's see $.23 per month for HGTV divided by 30 days in a typical month = $.0078 per day. Just for you we'll round it up $.008 per day.

I didn't get a postcard-only one for the Hallmark Channel and was just told by an AT&T employee that they didn't send them out for the HGTV and Food Network Channels being dropped. We are paying for these channels and its a bunch of BS for them to remove them period. If they are not back by the middle of next week-all my u-verse products as well as my neighbors are out of here. Plus I will be deducting money from my bill as well. Why would we pay for something we are not getting because the higher ups can't come to an agreement. Its always about money. I think AT&T make more than their fair share. At least they do from my family.

I told a customer service person that I'm moving in the next 30 days, and if those channels are not back on, AT&T is not going with me. It's obvious, they don't care about their customers and I don't care about them. Several family members are going to change if the channels aren't back too. It's just not fair that we have to pay the same monthy bill and not get the product we signed up for. Let's face it,
U-Verse200 has NEVER been 200! Not when you count all the duplicate channels...
Shame on you, AT&T, to treat your loyal customers this way!!!!
Where has it ever said that U200 was 200 channels? Nowhere.

Where and how were you "promised" these channels. Do you have it in writing that ANY channel is guaranteed? Don't think so.

Just an FYI-I was told when I was trying to get U-verse which took me like 6 weeks and I was finally giving up that Direct TV is in with AT&T. I was told by a Direct TV employee when I cancelled my order with them because AT&T decided that I could do U-Verse. I didn't have a clue. Just be cautious.

How does it "void your contract" Where in that contract does it guarantee ANY channel? It doesn't.

I wish I would have been aware of this article prior to the deadline. We will absolutely cancel. AT&T, you have made an enormous mistake. Food Network and HGTV have a strong and dedicated army of followers. We are a smart, passionate, creative group of watchers that know our options. Without Food Network, you are no longer an option, U-Verse. I'm sure you will be overwhelmed with Twitters, blogs, Facebook posts, emails, and calls explaining that if you do not take action, the views will. My free time at the end of the day was spent enjoying Food Network. Now that this pleasure has been taken away without consent, my free time will be spent spreading the word about U-verse's poor judgement until I am connected with my new service. I am cancelling.

It's all bad negotiating and seriously, I'm considering going back to HellCast . . .
Where does it say that U200 is 200 channels? It doesn't

When you said there was no way to communicate directly to AT&T....you forgot about that lovely conversation one can have with that friendly 24/7 robo voiced gentleman at 1-800-288-2020. I guess there was no one available in India or the Philippines to help with the many calls AT&T must be receiving over this slight program channel glitch. I wish I could customize and pay for the 8 channels I watch. Oh, I forgot my favorite 8 channels just got decreased by 3. It doesn't seem fair. We should probably stick our heads out the window and shout "We not going to take it any more". Better yet...let's revolt and better ourselves by going back to READING.

We were never notified that this was going to happen. We are new to U-Verse and will give it a few days to get rectified. If it does not get fixed we will be parting ways and going back to our cable provider.

You are absolutely right! This from the biggest monopolizing company in the United States, AT&T. Monopoly on iPhones, iPads, and Strongarming!
Really? What rock have you been hiding under? iPads are available in multiple retails stores and will be available with a Verizon data package this month. As for iPhones, Apple is the one to blame for that, they signed the exclusivity agreement with AT&T.

This is the real kicker. Pulling them off the air before the contract expired. Violating the trust that their customers put in them to provide content they want. ATT can cry and point the finger all they want, but the reality of it is most people only watch a handful of channels. And when you take them away, the only recourse is to find them somewhere else.
Better get fixed ASAP.. I'm already investigating my options. (We also never received this mythical postcard warning us of this)
FYI, the contract expired at midnight on the 31st of Oct.

Soooo...FYI, I've been reading this message boards for the last f-ing hour waiting on that live chat. It continues to tell me my wait time is 15 minutes. Its a doggone LIE, their customers are very ANGRY, and they perpetuate their LIES by saying they have our best interests in mind. Gee thanks so much. If I needed a kidney, I wonder if they would just hand me a crappy cloudy cornea and say, "yeah, couldn't do that other thing, but here's a POS for you to have while I work on that."
