You must have moved up to a higher cost package. We've been with Uverse almost three years and our cost has gone up once by $5 per month because of an increase in Internet service price.

I'll be checking out our options since we don't know how long they will keep these channels on. I don't watch many other channels, certainly not enough to warrent to cost of Uverse without HGTV & Food.
AT$T really screwed up on this. Scripps looks like the good guys and AT$T looks greedy.
The channels will be in the U-verse lineup for at least the duration of the new carriage agreement which should be for several years. How long will these channels be in the lineup of the new TV provider that you are considering?
That would be the part about "checking out our options". Sorry if that was confusing to you.

>> AT$T really screwed up on this. Scripps looks like the good guys and AT$T looks greedy.
I think there are some bad points on both accounts.
For AT&T's part, I don't understand their insistence on "pulling the plug", especially when a contract extension until Dec. 31 was offered. This was the same price AT&T had agreed upon with Scripps earlier, and AT&T had no logical reason to not accept this extension.
As for Scripps...
Here's what their President said:
"AT&T U-verse demanded unreasonably broad video rights for emerging media where business models have not even been established... Accepting their demands would have restrained our ability to deliver our content to our viewers in new and innovative ways."
Which is a complete load of BS.
First of all, how can you negotiate a fee for services that have no established business models? These guys don't even know what they're opposing, but they're willing to double the fee for it. Second, how does Scripps consider content delivery restrained in any capacity, since these "demands" are being provided by essentially every carrier?
If I were AT&T's management, I wouldn't stand for a 100% hike in fees for the exact same content either. But at the same time, I would do my level best to find alternative programming or offer some of the other channels within this same tier (instead of Bravo -- I mean *Bravo*?!?! Really??? That's the best you could do? Bravo)

Since AT&T pulled the only channels I watch, there's not much point in keeping my TV service. Does anyone know if you can keep the Internet by itself? If so, how much is it? Without my channels, I might as well dump AT&T and get Dish Network.

It should be the same price as you pay now if you look at your bill. I would just call AT&T about it.

Ya, we are going to do the same thing and only keep internet. We may even go to a different cell provider as we are finding out that AT&T is getting money hungry, obviously, as they keep getting rid of more and more what people want and thinking only about their pockets. They soon will be another Sprint!! The ONLY good we can say about them is internet. But their DSL doesn't require anything. You don't even need home phone for it and it is only $15!! If I were you, I would change. I think that the more people that drop U-Verse, the sooner they find out their getting too big for their britches!

That's a seperate deal. How many times has your bill gone up? Mine has stayed quite constant. I think it's only gone up about $6 in over two years. (About $3 per year.) Call billing and negotiate a lower price. I do this every couple months.

Don't be so worried, ATT negotiated the AMC,WE, IFC situation into their requests to make all Uverse areas have these channels which they did not have. No reason to think this Hallmark channel will not have a similar outcome. ![]()

I am a former Dish network customer.
I am unable to find Ovation channel in your programming. Do you have it available, what plans if it is not currently available.
Appreciate the info/feedback.

Really, a contract was signed so the channels are here to stay. Let's see what other providers have had issues in the past month. Dish, was without many Fox affiliated stations for several weeks, Cablevision was without Fox and many of its affilitated stations for several weeks and their subsriberss missed the first 3 games of the world series. AT&T is not the first nor will it be the last provider to go through some heated contract negotiations. Comcast will just bow down and pay whatever because they don't have a problem raising rates. Twice at least this year. AT&T didn't screw up and Scripps is not the good guy. BOTH sides are equally at fault.

Ovation is currently not included in the U-verse channel lineup. You can make a formal channel request using the link below.

Don't see that one happening any time in the near future. Crown Media is on the verge of collapse so I'm sure AT&T is waiting to see who's going to pick up the pieces when it falls. Crown's content has become stagent and they were hoping that Martha would revive them. Boy did that ever back fire. They have reduced her time slot by over 1/2 and now they are wishing they never signed her.

They're BACK!!!! So glad AT&T got HGTV and Food Network back......Now all they have to do is get BACK Hallmark... Come on AT&T I'm sure you can work a deal out with them also to keep your customers happy. We don't want to have to switch as we've been happy with your service up until this fiasco.

I have not even checked my Hallmark channel!!! I hope it is not gone! I missed my Sunday night HGTV programs because of this mess, but glad that it is back on and assume that DIY is also. We have been customers for only a month and if this keeps up (the canceling of GOOD programs) we just might need to go back to DishNetwork! We do not want to, but we will! PLEASE keep the good channels and you can get rid of the nasty ones!
Too much violence!

Here is an article from Multichannel News:
AT&T U-Verse, Scripps Reconnect On Carriage Contract
HGTV, Food, Other Nets Return To Telco's Air
Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 11/7/2010 9:20:57 PM
After spending the day negotiating, Scripps Networks Interactive-owned services were restored to AT&T U-verse's air on Sunday night.
Disconnected on Friday morning over new-media rights, HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, Cooking Channel and GAC became available again to the telco's subscribers shortly before 8 p.m. (ET) on Nov. 7. Deal terms were not disclosed.
"These situations are never easy, and everyone regrets that the viewers were caught in the middle," said John Lansing, president of Scripps Networks, in a statement. "After the initial impasse, both sides took quick action to work toward a constructive solution. We especially appreciate our loyal viewers and for their passionate support and for their patience."
"We're very satisfied that this is a fair deal that benefits our U-verse customers," noted AT&T U-verse in its statement. "The terms and costs of the deal recognize our growing subscriber base and give us the tools and content rights to compete with all other providers. We are very grateful to our customers for their support."
The parties -- which evidently came to terms on the license fees for Scripps's service before the contract expired last month and then agreed to three extensions before reaching an impasse over the advanced media rights on Nov. 5 -- disconnected over how much of the programmer's content AT&T could disseminate over its digital and mobile platforms, as well as future distribution mechanisms.

OMG.....my EARS will finally start healing from hearing from her ALL WEEKEND about this. I was Seriously about 15 minutes away from calling to cancel and get Directv hooked back up so I didn't have to hear her in my ear about HGTV, Food Network, and the other channels. I'm happy with U-Verse but she never has been and she pays the bill for this utility, so its up to her. Hey, if I gotta keep her happy....AT&T needs to also. ![]()

To the many hundreds of U-Verse customers who chimed in to express disgust, anger and sheer jaw-dropping awe of poor customer service on ATT's part....and doing so in the face of the pro-ATT posters on here who tried to quiet us down: we won.
Still laughing at ATT's line about getting us a fair deal when the economic terms were agreed to long ago. This was about one thing and one thing only....greed across the spectrum, both economic and technological on ATT's part.
ATT---if you cross us again, these voices will be just as loud and persistent. And to the pro-ATT posters who warned us not to use "TV Programming" as a place to complain and vent---we obviously didn't listen to you. Nor should we.

I'm happy that this was resolved, but still upset about the Hallmark channel. IF this happens again, I am poised any ready with an offer, in writing, from Direct TV. Same exorbitant amount of $$$ by the time HD/DVR etc, etc, etc. are factored in... but they don't seem to play these petty games which look a lot like AT&T flexing its muscles, and putting us in the middle. Life is stressful enough. We should not have to worry about sitting down and watching some TV after a long day.

You may have to restart your U-Verse boxes (Menu > Options > Restart) to bring them back. I had to, in Indianapolis.

Does you Guide show the channels correctly? I can watch the channels in their usual location. But the guide says I am watching a different network/show. I did restart the system but it did not change anything. As an example, my guide says that the GRN network is on channels 454 and 465 with the same show airing. But in reality, 454 is the restored DIY network and 465 is GRN. Hopefully, it is just a matter of time and this will update itself.
Very disappointed at the lack of communication from AT&T to the U-verse subscribers over this entire situation from start to finish.

The channel names and the Guide descriptions are wrong; however, the programming is on the correct channels. The channel names and Guide descriptions will be corrected during the overnight updates.

Not here in La Mesa (San Diego) as of 10pm PST.
I am PRO-ATT, but this is ridiculous. I don't blame ATT for wanting to make a profit, but if this becomes an issue, than Congress needs to regulate the Broadcast Media companies more, with the intent to give customers much more control over the channels we pay for. If I have to pay $50 month for television, it's getting to the point that I only want to pay for the channels I actually watch.
I know with Republicans in Congress now, regulation ain't likely to happen, but I'm just throwing it out there peeps...
Cableone and Comcast are sooo much worse than U-verse I will go kicking and screaming if I have to give u-verse up...
