I called ATT recently to complain that my uverse internet has been erratic recently. I would get top speed of 4mbps and as low as 1 mbps when I should be getting 12 Mbps. Their solution was to replace my old 2wire 3600 HGV modem but when I replaced the modem, now certain websites will not work on any browsers at home and the erratic connection problem is still there. I used both my mac and pc computer and it simply will not load. I know that these websites are working properly because I used a different connection and was able to see them load properly. I called ATT again and they sent out a technician. All he did was changed the channel on the modem to 11 (something I could've done) and said he pretty much doesn't know anything about the computer stuff. He has no clue what was going on and even decided to blame it on my computers, even though my pc is only 4 months old (he even asked me if I download porn regulary and thought that my new computer is infested with viruses and said microwaves could interefere with my modem). Now I am stuck with erratic internet speed and can't pay my bills online at home because those sites won't load properly. I don't know what else to do. I don't want to call ATT because I'm sure it'll only be a waste of time now. Any suggestions is appreciated. Thank you for your time.

If you cannot find a site it may be the DNS server because that is what translates the link you enter to the IP address.
Try setting the DNS server in your computer network preferences to google - 8.8.8.8. I believe some folks have also had to change an alternate DNS. Use 8.8.8.4.
This should do it if the DNS address in the old modem was different than the new one.
If you are saying you can get to your banks website, but it will not let you log on - for security, these sites like to recognize your computer. If you got out of synch with that process - clear your cookies & cache on your browser & answer your security questions.
Clearing may also impact other sites & you will need to answer security questions when you first enter those sites.

Thanks for replying aviewer. I changed the setting of the DNS server to use those following address on the TCP/IPv4 but it can't load the front page of the website at all. I noticed that my connection both uses IPv6 and IPv4 so i changed the settings of the DNS server in IPv6 to use the google adress too but it still didn't work. Could it be that I'm doing something wrong?
This is the address that i used:
- For IPv4: 8.8.8.8 and/or 8.8.4.4.
- For IPv6: 2001:4860:4860::8888 and/or 2001:4860:4860::8844
Also, I fixed the erratic internet connection by changing the channel to 4 instead of 11/Auto. But now I still can't load those specific websites.

Did you say you tried different browsers? Try Google Chrome.
There is always reboot. Once you are set up with Google, try reboot bot RG and computer.

Yes, I have used browsers such as firefox, safari, IE, IE no add ons and chrome. They still won't load even after adding the DNS google address then after restarting the modem and the computer. Also, what do you mean by rebooting "bot RG". Also, yesterday i decided to restore the modem to it's factory settings and that still didn't fix it.

Were you ever able to find a solution to your problem? I have something similar occuring. Same model AT&T router, and I have some websites where the site will load fine, but images will not. It happens on all computers / devices in my house. I know it is localized to my connection because I can run the same test by turning wifi off on my iPhone, and the site will then load fine on my phone over 3G. I've tried the suggested DNS entries also to no avail...
Very frustrating, any suggestions?
