I am a huge Mets fan. Watching the Mets in SD is not cool.

Anyone else notice, when watching the games, that AT&T is one of the sponsors??? And yet they still haven't managed to offer it in HD. Had a tech at my house today and asked if he had any inside info but the answer was "no".  Hey, also, if anyone reads this that is outside of the area I did notice something recently regarding the "This game is not available in your area"/MLB rules nonsense, it seems as though they have the games blacked out for a certain period of time, if the game takes longer, you can see it! A friend of mine lives outside the area and during a rain delay SNY said the game was blacked out, by the time the game started, the black out period had ended and he was able to watch the whole game. Not an answer but at least maybe more people can watch their teams a little more often.

I already know the answer but apparently you need some help so let me enlighten you. Within a 50 mile radius (and that's stretching it, it's more like 30-35 miles) of Manhattan, there are 15 Professional Sports Teams. I can say with complete confidence, there is not a single other geographical area of similar size in these United States that has that many professional teams. If you want to include ALL Professional teams within the 3 states that make up the tri-state area, there are 21. And, there are additional teams coming to the area in 2010.

Yeah nice try. I dont think minor league baseball, AHL hockey, any type of lacrosse, WTT, Arena football, even the WNBA or squash league you wanna throw in counts as a major professional sport/team.

I believe it is universally agreed that major american professional sport leagues are NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS. By those standards the tri state area is not the one with most over counting all 3 states. We all know California is king on that department.

Yes the tri state area is the most populated metro in the U.S and and one of the most world wide and it's a shame Uverse does not offer SNY HD for those customers at least.

But when it comes to braggin' rights that's a different story.

I said Professional Sport teams and I'm right and heck, I didn't even count any minor league teams at all. Even with regard to the "major" sports you mention, no where else in the country do you have 2 MLB teams 10 miles apart, no where. No where else do you have 2 NFL teams that play in the same stadium, 2 NBA teams that play 8 miles apart, 3 NHL teams that play within 30 miles of one another, no where, it's simply a fact. And, it's the reason AT&T needs to carry SNY in HD!

All that is true. But I don't particularly care if Eli and Mark Sanchez are roommates, the lakers and clippers also share a venue. The fact is the tri state area does not have braggin' rights for most pro teams. Theres just no contest comparing the most populated metro to the most populated state. Anything else you say is valid.
