Sony Movie Channel

Here in San Diego, I use Titan TV listings as my schedule guide.  Today I notice that Sony Movie Channel is listed in the guide on channel 1791 HD http://www.titantv.com/profile/channels.aspx?lid=f2b00f82-5326-4a08-bb23-1f65c1680f2f .  Sony Movie Channel will launch tomorrow http://www.sonymoviechannel.com/ .  But I very much doubt that Uverse will add the channel at this time.  I wonder if anyone of my fellow Uverse members have any additional information on the future release of this channel to Uverse?

I went on their website[SonyMovie Channel's]and it says it'll be on the HD premium tier as of tomorrow.

Hmm...someone has been busy with the Oct. 1st launch!  Shows 1791 for UV in Wikipedia.

Sounds like this may be another HD Premium Tier addition?

...the Sony movie channel would not compete with premium channels like HBO or Showtime, but would rather be built into a paid service package much like Universal HD and MGM HD...

I dont think IPTV has "slots" like traditional cable.

I think each channel does have it's own dedicated encoder.  But I'm not sure how much capacity the video office has vs what it supports.

I stumbled upon the channel a couple of hours ago.  I checked out its upcoming schedule, some pretty good flicks on there. Das Boot was on so I clicked over there to see how it looked. It looked great, except.......covering the upper right corner of the screen is about as gaudy an on-screen logo as you will see on any channel. I know that networks want to burn into your brain that you are watching their channel, but when the on-screen logo is so obtrusive that you are watching it instead of the programming......I hope that since it's a new channel, they will eventually tone it down if not remove it.
