Speed problems

I switched from old DSL to Uverse 2 weeks ago and have now had 2 modems and its like dial up. It was faster before I switched and it was supposed to be from (6m) to (12m) now I get (1.2m) I've about had it . It is so frustrating. I might just go to roadrunner. I can't take another week of this.HELP

Which U-verse gateway do you have? Also, are you getting the same speeds with both wired and wireless connections?
