NFL Sunday Ticket is exclusive to DirecTV until at least next season, and after that there's always a chance that the NFL will open it up more, but they didn't last time they had the chance so I doubt it. As for the other sports, it's up to U-verse to make a deal with the leagues, and for whatever reason they haven't yet.
That is if the NFL doesn't have a lockout after next season. If thats the case I won't know what to do with myself on Sundays.

More than likely yes. You are in the Cubs/WSox market. Until AT&T offers MLB:EI, those games should be blacked out.

This message I read was from January. Has anything happened since then? I just switched to U-verse from Comcast in Northern California and have noticed that all Comcast Sports Bay Area sporting events are "blacked out in my area" on U-verse. I can walk next door to my neighbor who has basic cable and watch the same channel and it's not blacked out. Why? Do I already need to go back to cable?
Enter your zip code in the link below to determine which regional sports networks and pro teams you should be able to view with U-verse.

Yes, there are a few things like NHL that you can watch on FSN midwest, but the cards isnt one of them. Wich is a shame as there are alot of cards fans in the chicago area. It would be nice to have the choice. I hope that once ATT does add these packages they will pick up all the rsn's in SD and HD like Directv.
The only packages that they wont carry is NFL sunday ticket and Nascar Hotpass, and thats only by contractual rights. (directv has exclusitvity)

There have been some big changes with Comcast Sports Bay Area and Comcast Sports California in Northern California this year. During baseball season the Giants are on CSBA (770/1770) a d tbe A's are on CSC (767/1767) Everyone should get both. The Warriors are on CSBA and can only be seen in the Bay Area. The Sacto Kings are on CSC and can only be seen in the central valley. When the Warriors play , there is a blackout on CSBA in the Sacto area and when the Kings play there is a blackout on CSC in the Bay Area. The problem comes up with the Sharks who are mostly on CSC. If there is a Sharks game and a Kings game in the same time frame, the Kings get CSC with a Bay Area blackout and the Sharks are on an ALT channel (692/1692 or 693/1693). It gets confusing but you get used to it.
Most of the time the Guide keeps all of this straight but not always. One of the advantages (for hockey fans) has been that all of the games (home/away) have been in HD this year.

A lot of the away sharks games may be on the HD channel but they aren't true HD. I think a lot of them are Stretch HD........but it is 100 times better than last year![]()

There was a game last week from Edmonton that was just terrible. The graphics looked like they were done on an etch-a-sketch and the picture would disappear for seconds/minutes at a time until about half way through the game when the picture became excellent.
Isn't one way to tell if we are getting Stretch HD is to look at the top of the screen score graphic? In a real HD picture, the score bar is narrower so that it will fit in an SD screen. In a Stretch HD picture wouldn't the score bar be stretched screen-wide as well? I've never seen a screen wide score bar so I think we have been getting real HD. The announcers often refer to their HD picture.

The Zip Code 95361 is the home team territory for the following pro teams:
With the U100 Package and above:Comcast SportsNet Bay Area (Ch.770-SD / Ch.1770-HD)
- NBA: Warriors
- MLB: Giants
- NHL: Sharks
This is what came up after entering my zip code. You get their regular programming all day, but when the game comes on it is blacked out. My question specifically is why does U-verse black out in this zip code while Comcast does not. I am talking about all the Warrior games, home and away with no other channel showing the game.

The ATT link referred to above has some bad info. I don't care what ATT says, the Sharks are on Comcast Sports California not Comcast Sports Bay Area. Your ZIP shows CSC with the A's and the Kings while mine shows only the A's (95125). While there may be some areas that are supposed to be in both the Kings and the Warriors territory, most are in one or the other and get blackouts.
Try emailing Comcast Sports Bay Area/California (they share a website and contact). I contacted them last year with a problem of ATT cutting off post game shows and they worked directly with ATT and fixed the problem and gave me a way to let one of their techs know when ATT messed up.

I think the best way to tell is before or after they show a replay, I don't remember which it is, they will flash the CSNCA logo on the screen and if it is being broadcast in HD the logo is CSNCA HD and when it isn't its just CSNCA. Look for it next road game as all the home games are in HD I believe.

But again the question is why would it be different with ATT as apposed to Comcast in the same area? Comcast shows all Warriors games (Home and Away) on SNBA unless they are playing the Kings but with ATT all the games are blacked out even when on the road. If you are going to black out all these games for no apparent reason, they should disclose this. If my Giants get blacked out I will definitely switch back to Comcast.
Needmysports, there is another thread regarding this same issue http://utalk.att.com/utalk/board/message?board.id=
Here's my reply to AlanF
Since Blackouts are zip code based, and these two zip codes are fairly close together geographically, it appears that either:
1. the team territories have shifted a little - which happens from time to time
or
2. something may have gone wrong in the UV systems when the A's moved over to CSNC. (Before all the sports "Gurus" jump on me, I am just thinking out loud here).
I took the liberty of supplying both zip codes to Tier 2 last night while I was working with them on my own issue .. They said they would look into it and get back to me. Believe it or not, I received a response this am asking me to reset the boxes "later this evening" before tonight's game.
I'd be happy to do that for you, but I don't think I could catch a flight out to SF and drive to the Modesto area in time to do so. Try rebooting your boxes before game time and let us know if that worked. If so, I may have gotten a hold of someone who knows what they are talking about (and I kept their e-mail address)..
Give it a whirl tonight and hopefully it will work. Hope is does !!!

Tonight's away game from Phoenix was real HD not Stretch HD. I switched back and forth between the SD and HD versions and the HD channel had players showing on the edges of the picture who were not there on the SD version. This was really apparent when there was a face off and everyone was still for a couple of seconds in a formation.
There was nothing about HD in the logos before/after replays but trust me, this was not a stretch-o-vision game--it was real HD.
One other thing--the picture and sound on CSN CA has been out of sync for awhile. You only notice it during pre/postgame or intermission interviews and commercials. It was really irritating. I contacted Comcast Sports CA and got an email back from a Comcast tech named Peter. He monitored the sound/picture from their end and found no problems so he contacted ATT about ATT's equipment and the problem seemed to be fixed tonight.

You might be right about the game tonight being in HD but it didn't look as good as some other road games in HD and definitely not as good as a sharks home game. I didn't notice the audio not being in sync with the video tonight so it must have been fixed. Nice to know someone actually responded to you over at CSNCA. Now if the sharks could just start winning again!
