I would like to know if ATT will be adding the capablity to choose and URL to stream radio in the Menu some time? I know Samsung is now hook up with Yahoo to pull up Widgets I have had to ask them to let me include a Widget that I found on the web that lets me add a URL to stream.
In short I would like the VIP1225 allow me to stream, on tolink to receiver, so I don't have to turn on TV, just to type in the link.

Your question is confusing. you say you want to "stream radio without a PC", then you want to be able access widgets on your Samsung, then you want to be able to use your DVR without having to "turn on the TV".
???

well I guess I don't understand how something so simple has missed providers for so long and yet so many want to stream other media.

Are you talking about streaming from a URL and not having UVerse Internet or just not having the PC? I would think that would not be possible without UVerse internet - i.e. they would block all 'net access except their own to run UV Video. I'm sorry - I still don't quite understand all of this. BTW - I use Mediashare and TVersity (and a PC) and stream dozens of internet radio stations to my UV STB.

Samsung home theaters have their own web interface that simplify media streaming (Netflix, Pandora, etc) directly to the home theater through your Internet connection. Apparently the OP would like to see similar functionality on the U-verse DVR rather than invest in extra equipment.
yeah, and I would too! I have long suggested that internet web pages (and streaming audio, youtube videos and so on) could someday be accessed through the UV STB. Now that I understand what he wants - it's what I've been clamoring for all along. ![]()
Thanks erazoner and randy for the info.......

Just saw your other post about DLNA. Funny thing is tonight I just connected my Samsung to my Buffalo Linkstation and stream my radio, no thanks to U-verse!
Now if U-verse DVR would support DLNA I would be much closer. Part of what I had to do is use some software on my PC to rip the stream to MP3 and put it on my Buffalo. Mini-stream ripper is the software I used. This allows me to rip for a set peroid of time or file size. I set it up for 30 minutes and put the file on the Buffalo. The Samsung get and update every 30 minutes or so, configurable, and see the new file. So, my wife can be upstairs turn on the Samsung TV attach to the Buffalo DLNA and only be a half hour behind.
Now if only ATT would put a small version of this software on there DVRs menu and make the DVR DLNA. I would be perfectly set.
