Stuck in No Availability Zone!!!!!

I have been asking for UVERSE now- in DEC- for TWO YEARS. Slowly all of the houses around me have access but because ATT is lazy and full of excuses, I continue to wait. You would think ATT would be interested in upgrading neighborhoods to the point that ALL customers in that neighborhood have access, instead of stopping 100 feet from your house and telling you that you are too far from the switch box. Come on ATT. Quit being lazy and do your job. It is ridiculous that my next door neighbor can get access but I cannot. Instead of fully serving your customers, you choose to open new markets and help new customers- while continuing to make excuses for your loyal ones.

Contact David at the link below and let him know your issue. He may be able to help you get service or a time frame. He may not get back to you right away but I think he is the person you should contact.

At least here in MI they have been installing VRAD's at the crossbox location, that way they have easy access to customer lines to connect to the VRAD. The lines can service lengths much longer than Uverse's current distance of 3000' and that is why you can't get it yet. It's not that they were lazy, that was just of their business plan for the $$ they had for build-out. They realized that wasn't working as soon as they started building out. So, they started looking at pair bonding VDSL2 as early as 2005 and ran into the biggest problem of crosstalk of the 2 co-existing bonded pairs. This will increase the distance to 4-5000' and fill-in alot of the area between VRADs and is suppossedly coming 1Q 09.

Assuming you're in a normal suburban neighborhood and your next door neighbor is actually next door and not 1/4 mile away, there's no logical reason for you to be denied service, provided that both residences are served by the same cross connect.

Call ATT and insist that they send out a installer to verify that you're not eligible for the service. If needed, provide them the addresses and locations of those around you who have the service currently active.

Are both neighbors able to get Uverse or just the one on one side?

They made feed out of a terminal that is closer to the VRAD than you and could be right at the cutoff point. There HAS to be a line somewhere that denies service to anyone that lives beyond that point. I don't know if that is the case with you or not.

AT&T does not have a policy to allow for an installer to verify UVerse eligibility, they can only retest the line to determine whether it will pass or not.

I have had U-verse(U200) with the free movie package for 1 year. I tried to upgrade to U300 and was told U-verse is unavailable at my address. I am going to keep my U200 with the movie package and try to upgrade later. What I am wondering is why was it available a yea ago and not now?

Log in to your account to make the changes. If you already have the service then the availability checker will show it's unavailable because you can only have one Uverse account per home.

I called in and a CSR tried to do the upgrade, but they were unsuccessful.

After a fierce media blitz in the Chicago suburbs about this service (including having a salesman knocking on my door) I just found out its not available at my house. I can't believe that I had to wait a month to find this out- not only slow service but this was going to be a family Christmas present! It's like scrooge and AT&T teamed up this year! I think they should be held accountable for this fiasco.

The installer called repair and much to my surprise they were here in less than an hour--unfortunately they thought we might be on the cut off point- I haven't heard anything since. I called installation and they told me it was still in process.
