Not necessarily. It will depend on the deal that AT&T strikes with MLB.

In fact, the contentious point in the negotiation is rumored to be that AT&T wants the channel on the Sports Pack/U450, while MLB wants it on a more basic package like U200.

Considering the number of posts over the past few years requesting the Tennis Channel, I am surprised that there has not been more of a reaction here on the forum this week about U-verse adding the channel. I wonder if a lot of those requesters do not have either the U450 package or the Sports Package and do not realize that the Tennis Channel has been added.

Thanks for the Tennis Channel AT&T Can MLB be far behind? A fix for the the Audio Drops would be nice as well

This is usually the case with most channels across most providers. The provider (AT&T, DirecTV, cable) usually wants the channel on a higher package. This "forces" subscribers to pay more money for the channels they want. The channel owner (Disney, Comcast, NewsCorp, etc.) usually wants the channel on a lower provider so that more people can watch it.

I would be shocked if AT&T "wins" this debate. If AT&T gets to add the channel on their sports tier, wouldn't that be unfair to everyone else who has it on their basic, or digital basic tier?

I tell ya, a lot of these "one and doners" are probably employees from the competition. Wouldn't these people come back and do a "thank you" are they too busy watching highlights from Wimbledon 1972?

It may be "solved" for those that have U450 but it isn't solved for any one else! *(&%#%$ I give up. I'm resigned to never getting the tennis channel from UV because I'll never pay for U450 (full disclosure -- I have U200).

You don't have to upgrade to the U450 package. You can subscribe to the Sports Package for $10/month and receive the Tennis Channel along with the rest of the channels included in the Sports Package.

Of course you can also choose to not subscribe to either the U450 package or the Sports Package and continue to not received the Tennis Channel. Now you have a choice. Before this week, U-verse did not give you that choice.

ME.. Pay the $10 for the Sports Package and your problem is solved. If $10 is too much, you're only resolution would be to go to another provider. (Just be sure you compare costs closely.. I don't know of another provider who includes TC in a lower tier.. not saying there aren't any, I just don't know of one).

bedwards... ESPNU was carrying the match .. it was unbelievable.. especially the French player at a full out run and diving to try and save the 59th point... supposed to be contiued today (notice I didn't say completed as this is actually the 3rd day in a row they have played) ..

It was epic.. neither could stand (they had palyed for over 7 hrs straight yesterday (3 hrs the day before) .. I believe they also set a record for Aces .. something like 91 or 92 to 98 (the American play had a few more) ...

One of them looked like a tie .. I know yesterday they had to take a break cause the ref got a cramp in his butt .. for sitting 7 hrs... he deserved whatever award they gave him!!!

I'm so glad we were flooded with new threads every 3-5 weeks for a channel you can pay $10 a month for that shows highlights of matches that almost everyone who pays for TV can see (on "the ESPN family of networks.")

Quite frequently (including right now), AT&T offers one month, or more, of the Sports Package for free.

Evidently you don't know a lot about the Tennis Channel's programming because you're very incorrect.

The Tennis Channel carries more tournaments throughout the year than all other networks combined. You know there's more tournaments than just the 4 grand slams, right?

And there's instructional shows that aren't shown anywhere else at all.
