Good list, SomeJoe. I would, however, disagree about the DVR. Neither Comcast or Wow (my cable options) allow the number of simultaneous recording/viewing channels. May be a function of my location and profile - but I would find it hard to go backward. This is an important capability for me.

Yeah, SomeJoe's list is OK, but I think SJ may be a bit optimistic about competitor's DVR and support. This U-verse DVR is much better than my CableCo's. The only thing I miss is the default two tuner buffer (i.e. if I switch channels I can go back to my previous channel wihout having it under record).
Don't get me started on support. They all svck.

The workaround we have come up with is to record both programs and then you can switch back and forth. Since you have 4 streams you can do it with 4 different chanels.

Yes RCSMG, I realize that, and that's what I mean by "default buffer", i.e. you don't have to hit record as a matter of fact when you switch channels. I.e., by default, it leaves at least the last stream's buffer intact while you check another channel.
But you are right, and your posts are all good. I think you are pointing this out for the wider audience. I have now grown used to hitting record to get this behavior.
BTW, one thing I DO like about U-verse DVR is when I am recording and watching a show it remembers where I was. When I get tired and decide to do something else, and I turn off the box, and then come back later and turn it on, BINGO, it starts right where I left off. This is cool. BigCableCo's DVR did not do this and was very irritating.
Also, despite what others say here, I find the information for the show to be much better and comprehensive than BigCableCo's. Actually, BCC (Time Warner) previously had good info for shows, then they "improved" their DVR (i.e. cheapened it by changing the software to in-house), and killed the amount of info per show. Heaven help us when U-verse rolls out a new phase as is rumored. I hope it really is improvements.

Yes they do and it stinks. UV may be getting more subscribers but they will never get a customer service award. Even though this peer to peer forum is around, UV only tells you that they are not doing anything and never listens to what the customers are saying. This board is just a means for people to vent there frustrations out on UV for doing nothing. Also the people you call to set up service will lie and say anything to get you to sign up. I have had UV for two years and when I called they told #1 that the phone numbers on screen would come in the next quarter (only 21 months late and that lot8's would be coming very soon. HAAAAAAAHAAAAAA
