This is a att thing, they want to force you to use yahoo mail, now that I'll start working I'll be leaving this crap!

What kind of problems are you having? I've been using Thunberbird with Uverse for the last three years and it's always worked for me.

I'm not sure what the problem is. I use Fastmail and have no trouble at all.

Like others have stated, I have U-Verse internet, and I use Thunderbird to access as many as 30 different 3rd party email accounts (G-Mail, Yahoo!, Apple @me.com, my own domains, etc.). OF all of them, the only ones I have any problems with are the AT&T POP accounts I got for free with my service. All of my other accounts work just fine for me.
