Anybody getting two TCM's in their channel lineup and guide? I'm showing the original at 790 and another one at 794, which has the blue background with the white tv image on it. Is AT&T shifting TCM from 790 to 794? In fact, I just noticed that the second one is in the Hallmark Movie Channel slot. Possibly a mistake on someones part.

Maybe its just temporary until ATT and company that owns Hallmark channel get done with negotiations. ATT could be holding the channel for them.

No mistake. Since the Hallmark Channel was removed from the lineup due to being unable to reach a new carriage agreement with Crown Media, U-verse is airing Starz Kids in the Hallmark Channel slot and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) in the Hallmark Movie Channel slot.

We lost both Hallmark channels? Well, well, trouble in paradise.

It is no joke. I was reading the paper and had seen that AT&T and Hallmark have stopped talking. AT&T wanted a fair price and Hallmark wanted a little more.

Not seeing duplicates here.
But think I read they are giving free preview of TMC in the old slot for H channel in the interim during negotitations.

Good for AT&T. At least Rainbow Media has a semi-popular program in their lineup in Mad Men. Crown shows reruns of 20 year old shows and Martha ( I can make a prison cell pretty) Stewart.

Has AT&T put crawls up on the "new" channels regarding the impasse, since the yanked them? Admittedly, I have not watched either for more than a few minutes.

What's weird is that I can watch TCM on channel 790, but not on 794 (I am on U-200).
Why do this have the same channel in two places in the first place? It makes no sense to me, especially since you had to have U-300 or higher to get Hallmark Movie Channel, so you got TCM anyway. What are we gaining there?

You aren't going to get an ATT because we are all Uverse subs in this forum. ATT has personnel monitoring the forum but they are not allowed to respond or post in this forum. You might try cs and see if you jcan get an answer there.

Earlier I posted there were NOT 2 TCMs in my Guide, now there are. I can watch both of the TCMs as well (I'm U450).
See texasguy's post about why you have 2 TCMs now.

I have 300 and can see them both as well. Maybe ATT is giving the 200 subs a freebie. Just a thought.

Birdman Of Alcatraz is showing on 790 and 794 here. I didn't see a message crawl during the short time I was looking at the channels.

If AT&T wants to do something for their customers over the loss of the Hallmark channels, then why don't they put a movie channel in those slots and I don't mean Starz Kids, either. Or whatever it is. Put an HBO or a Showtime or something similar. What's the sense in putting a second TCM in that one slot. That's stupid.

Better than being dark?
HBO and Showtime are Premium networks and they offer free preview weeks usually twice a year. Think that's probably in a contract somewhere that ATT can't just show those channels for free, whenever.

Better than being dark? Really? Ok, I get it. Hmmm, I don't like the movie I'm seeing on TCM 790. Guess I'll switch over to see what's on TCM 794. There we go. Instead of watching Sinatra in A Hole In The Head, I can watch Sinatra in A Hole In The Head. Look, putting a second TCM on gains nothing for anybody. But you and others make it sound like AT&T really did us a favor by giving us two channels exactly the same. Now, if TCM had an east and west feed, then that would be ok. Then whatever you missed earlier, you could see later.
But isn't that Starz Kid/Family channel also a premium channel?

Don't see it as a favor, and my answer was a question, you be the judge. Agree a West/East Coast feed would have been beter, but I'm not in charge. ![]()
My bet is they added TCM (for whatever $ reason) as a placeholder to keep the *H* channel's spot for when it comes back.
Yeah, Starz is Premium, but not in the same realm, IMO, as HBO or Showtime.

At one time Showtime was really nice. When I had Comcast and DTV I had HBO and Showtime channels. Now I like the movies that are offered on Starz more than the ones offered on Showtime.

I have both here in CT also. Would hide one but I figure I'd end up hiding the one that ATT will keep and then I'll see none until I am looking for TCM.
