U-Verse Wireless Gateway not working

I have had UVerse for 3 days.  I had no problems with setup, and wireless was working fine until this morning.  I am currently unable to connect to wireless via the Gateway.  I tried unplugging the device, changing my SSID and several other tasks. When it shows up in the available networks, the wireless signal is really low, and only my Mac computer can find the signal.  None of the other devices can find it (PC, iPhone, iPad).  During my one hour chat with customer support (Session ID: 6903905) the wireless worked intermittently, but could never sustain a connection with my computer for more than a few minutes.  

The problem was never resolved (chat ended suddenly?), so I gave up and plugged in my old wireless router to the ATT Gateway, with success.  Bottom line...Gateway as a wireless router? Terrible.

I am having the same problems and I could only get my newest laptop to see the network.  I was sitting right next to it and it had an intermittent signal which kept dropping.  I cannot get any other device to recognize the SSID even though it is set to broadcast.  I am very frustrated.  I got Uverse installed and setup Friday night and it worked fine until yesterday morning.  I have tech background and an networking degrees so I'm not a newbie, but I do believe I have a hardware issue, and not an user problem

Which U-verse gateway do you have?

I've been having the exact issues you mentioned with my new 2Wire Gateway router. Maybe I should try plugging my old wireless router to the ATT's Wireless Gateway. Is there any special instruction for that? Did you just simply connect the two routers with an Ethernet cable?

I just had mine installed a month ago after being upgraded from DSL. The technician who installed indicated my 2wire RG may need to be replaced because this particular model had issues with wireless not working.

Which begs the question why is AT&T sending these units out to customers when they know there's a known issue with them?
