As a workaround might I suggest connecting an ota antenna to your tv and when you want to watch your local subchannels you can see them.  I don't think Uverse carries the local subchannels for most of the markets they are in.  But if you really want to be able to watch them, this is the only way you can at this time.

There is no way that a U-Verse door to door salesman would know in advance that the MLB Channel is coming March 1st. I hope it is true, but most likely the salesman was saying this in order to make a sale.

The salesman will actually know at the same time us subscribers will know; when we actually see a channel on our televisions announcing that MLB is coming or it is actually on.

I tend to agree with you. What is interesting, however, is that my father is already a subscriber and the rep was asking about how he liked his service. There was no reason to lie.

From my own experience and from hearing it from  the regulars on this forum, the U-Verse door to door salesmen know less about their product than we do.

I had one saleman at my door who knew absolutely nothing about U-Verse and how it works. I had to instruct him about the product.

Indeed!  I am perturbed that the Hallmark Channel is removed, yet we are saddled with viewerless channels as Current and Centric.  Now rates are going up???  My wife really enjoyed the Hallmark Channel, so I am thinking of going back to Comcast....  Does anyone know where I can get in contact with someone who cares agt AT&T, not just a CSR?  And I did put my request in at the website.  Thanks!

If you had read the posts from five months ago on this thread, you would have known it was Crown Media, the owner of the Hallmark channels, that pulled the channels from U-Verse. U-Verse wanted to keep the channels on while in the negotiation phase.

With all of the discussion about the Hallmark channels, MLB Channel, Fox Soccer Channel, etc., I was trying to compile a list of major channels that U-Verse is missing. I am not including sub-channels, foreign language channels, and minor channels like RFD. I am only talking about the channels that most people consider the major channels.

My list is:

Hallmark Channel SD and HD

The Hallmark Movie Channel SD and HD

The MLB Network SD and HD

AMC HD

Fox Soccer Channel HD

BBC America HD

MLB Baseball Package

NHL Center Ice

NBA Basketball Package

Are there any that I am missing? If all of the above channels are added, would most U-Verse subscribers finally be happy? I am not including the NFL Package since that is a Direct TV exclusive.

Fox Soccer Channel Plus HD is not included since that is starting tomorrow. Why is there not a Fox Soccer Channel Plus SD on 653?

It's really just what the provider wants to output as FOX sends out one MPEG4 feed for Fox Soccer Plus and a receiver at the provider's end outputs that into SD and HD feeds.

I do not think that the above two posters read my post. They only read the title. I included the MLB Network SD and HD in my list. The purpose of my post was to ask if there were any additional major channels that should be included in the list, and if all of these channels were to be added, would U-Verse subscribers finally be happy with the channel lineup.

Are there any providers who carry NESN, MSG, and MSG+ outside of the New England and New York areas? If these three are not national channels, then I doubt U-Verse would carry them, especially if other providers do not carry them nationally.
