U-verse On Demand Sucks!!

AT&T is really making me regret switching over from Comcast. Why do networks like Showtime and HBO have programs listed as available now On Demand but they never show up on U-verse when they are supposed to. And what happend to all the good free stuff from network TV that I had on Comcast. WHERE IS "WEEDS SEASONS 2 & 4" AT&T?! According to Showtime, Season 4 has been available since May 25th and Season 2 way before that. Your On Demand sucks just as bad as wireless does. I'm done with AT&T.

Careful.  WallStGent may have actually been a UV customer (or not).  Maybe we should have a smell test before one post wonders can post in "live" forums.  

As far as VOD go, how many Seasons do you expect there to be?  Showtime won't allow every season to be out at once on VOD.

I get what he is saying.  You have to admit he is right...AT&T does have a far more limited amount of On Demand than cable.    For example, my cable operator offers all the episodes in seasons 1 through 5 for Weeds via On Demand.  Plus several seasons of The Tudors, etc.

Plus the amount of movies available On Demand, specifically, HD movies, dwarf what U-Verse offers On Demand.

U-Verse frustrates me.  They have all this great marketing ability and the ability of the 4 product bundle, but they offer a video service inferior to cable and both satellite companies.

Just to remind some folks. Uverse is still a fairly young tv/telco service. Comcast has been around allot longer than most. They should have more of everything at this point.

So, from my vantage point- rougly 2 years with Uverse, they have made great strides.

I have never had Vod service before so anything I get is iceing on the cake.

I will not say Uverse is perfect. They still are not where Id like them to be. But they are inching closer.

They still need more streams. I still find conflicts with recording or to many streams in use. That, I cant stand.

To me biggest issue with Uverse.

But probably the best feature they have is ''no contract'' rather than complain about Uverse, you can just up and leave.

Thats a luxury you dont have with the Sat cos.

Programming on Uverse is very good. Still they are missing my most watch channels.

Hopefully they will add the big guns that people request all the time.

Also quality has vastly improved. Id give them a 7 out of 10. Stream alone is a killer for me.

Overall VOD, I agree with but it's been my experience that with the Premiums, the channels offerings are identical from provider to provider.  It sounds like he wants every season of every premium show to be on VOD.  Showtime and HBO are not going to allow that (and neither are the production companies) as that will limit DVD sales.

Of course the OP has never has responded......

The gentleman is obviously correct. Anyone that compares VOD offerings from TWC or Comcast with Uverse would come to the same conclusion that Uverse is inferior in this category and it isn't even close. If VOD is important to you, you should select a different service.

Going to a virus-laden warez site and illegally downloading movies is about as far from "common sense" as you can get.

And for the third time, the U-Verse box does not play videos off your PC.  If you knew anything about the service, you wouldn't post wrong information.

You are.   Mediashare + TVersity does indeed show the list of all of my video titles from the drive that I specified in the TVersity setup but only one or two (of the 200+ DVD rips) will play.  Those are like two minute clips in WMV format.  AT&T will most likely cripple Mediashare video....  Sigh.

I agree.  And for the fan-boys who think I am not a customer, I moved to U-Verse two months ago.  In the past year I have had both Comcast and Verizon FIOS.  Both of those have full suites of on demand offerings.  ATT is awful in comparison.  For example, last night I browsed to a series on TNT on-demand.  There was ONE episode available.  ONE!!!!  Doesn't that miss the point of on-demand, if you have to watch the episodes one-by-one as they show up and disappear?

I will be switching away from ATT.  I never watch TV live.  The whole reason I pay for premium cable is for the on-demand services.

That makes no sense.  If you never watch live TV, you should not waste money subscribing to any pay TV service. Your needs of watching on demand recorded programming would be met by subscribing to services such as Netflix and Hulu Plus. You can also watch most network primetime programming free online.
