Not having used boards before, I'm not sure if I'm posting to the correct one or not so pls. bear w/me...
I received the u-verse wireless gateway & set it up. We have a mac laptop, pc laptop & a dell desktop set up for wireless internet. Things were perfect for ~2 weeks. This past weekend, while using the internet, I stepped away, came back & noticed that I had to locate the 2wire network to reconnect. No problem..I quickly located it & entered the usual password. I received an error message: "invalid password". (!!??) Nothing had changed, been using exactly what AT&T had provided (sticker on the side of the gateway). Made sure it wasn't a typo, no caps etc. Still "invalid password". Powered everything down, restarted computer(s) & gateway & still: "invalid password". Ethernet connection works just fine (currenlty have a 50 ft. ethernet cable so the other system in the other room can access the internet!) Called u-verse & that folks - was a nightmare (repeated info, repeating situation, repeating actions, powered down etc etc.) Transferred 4 times, during which I was told I would have to pay for assistance because it wasn't the fault of U-verse but the modem (it's a U-verse modem!), I declined & was transferred "down" to someone who was far more customer service capable than the previous 3. While he apologized for having to run through the steps/info yet again, he did try to reset the gateway from his end. After a total of ~2 1/2 hours on the phone, nothing worked. He concluded that a new gateway was necessary & hopefully it arrives tomorrow as estimated. (I haven't received any shipping info online like I did w/the original gateway...) Has anyone run into this problem? Am so frustrated, I haven't found anything to address this invalid password issue. I located the service information (where I'm thinking the person who assisted me probably used to reset & re-reset the gateway from). I also used the default button on the back to no avail. I still get the invalid password message (all computers). We don't use tv, use internet to stream movies, news etc. This has been incredibly inconvenient especially since we are now tethered to our laptops while we wait for the replacement.
Any assistance would be appreciated. I even checked out Comcast to see it they would be worth switching to. Not so sure given comments I've read on them....

Once you get the new gateway installed, post back here if that does not solve the problem.

kathiguam - You know that there are two passwords on the modem - one for the wireless & one to access/change the settings in the modem.
Use the access password via the wired connection to turn off security or change the wireless password to see if it will work.
