I would like to know why Qubo channel 328 is not part of U200 line up but is part of the U-family, U300, and U450 line-up? That does not seem quite fair especially for someone who is considering keeping Att U-verse only if I am able to save some money. I am only considering keeping U300 because my son loves Quobo but do not like spending $20+ for one channel when there is quite frankly nothing on U300 for the amount of money I am paying... Maybe I should switch back to Comcast, at least there I was able to get all of the children's channels on the basic line-up unlike here. This is not the first time I have expressed my dislike regarding U-verse's channel line up. For the amount of money shelled out each month, especially in fees etc, the line should be more flexible and have better options!
Thanks

It sounds like you knew it up front and now are complaining about it. Only once in my 22+ months on Uvese has ATT taken a channel out of a higher/premium package and brought it down to u200. You have to do what you have to do. ![]()

NO, I did not know Quobo was not on U200 until recently. I complained about another channel when I first signed up. My son has only recently started watching Quobo.
My point is why not offer all of the children's channels for all tier like all of the other companies. When I first signed up with Att I was told I would be getting the equivalent of what I had with Comcast but once the service was installed I found out that was not the case. I called and complained and us upgraded to U300 at no additional cost, which as fine until they started increasing rates and fees not to mention I have had 3 receivers replaced in the last 6 months and a 2 modems in the last year. All of these malfunctions are due to refurbished equipment, I was told that by one of the technicians.
I have never experienced so many issues with any other cable company like I have with ATT and after reading other complaints I know that i am not the only one. They should be resolving current customer issues and complaints instead of offering all of these "incentives" for new ones. Then and only then will they be able to truly compete with the other cable companies.
so get off my back Chris.... enough said ![]()

Someone else today was just complaining there is no excuse not to have foxsports MW in the u-200 package. The reality is not everything can be in the u-200 package - and as soon as something were to be put in a higher package someone would claim it is unfair, and it should be in u-200.
My parents have TW, and they do not have all the childrens channels in the lower package, so that reasoning does not hold water that all the cable companies have the chidrens channels in their lower packages..

In a way it does since U-family has Qubo but not U200. I am not asking for the earth to be moved just more options or at least the flexibility to add if I wish for a small fee, (less than $20+ a month). I am not familiar with TW so I wouldn't know but I do know that Uverse is not comparable to Comcast like they claim they are since they are their biggest competitors.

So you did not check the channel lineups before you switched? Or are just bemoaning the fact that some packages have one channel while others do not. If it's the latter, yes it may sound unfair but it is the same for everyone. No provider has an ala carte service for mainstream channels, so to ask for U-Verse to offer it as such, is simply unreasonable. What you could do is to email uversecare@att.com and ask for them to note that you would like that channel put on the U-200 package. It never hurts and a few channels have been moved to lower tiers. I got an email response and a phone call within 2 hours of my email yesterday.
As far as Comcast and Children's channels, as long as subscribe to Digital Choice (more $) / Digital Plus (more $). Not all children's channels are included in all packages.
As for your last sentence, what part of UV doesn't compare to Comcast?
Is it less money for more channels?
Is it better SD picture quality?
Is it faster channel changes?
Is it the fact that I can watch/record 4 programs on a single DVR, where on Cc I could only watch/record 2?
etc.... I switched from Comcast in October 2008, price was similar and I got almost double the channels. There are some things that Comcast does better..... Good Luck.

To the OP. Why not hook up an OTA antenna for Qubo and drop your Uverse TV package down to U200? Here in the DFW area Qubo is free with an OTA antenna. Maybe it is in your area also. Sounds to me that you have U300 for only the Qubo channel. This suggestion would work for you and would actually save you some money. Good luck.

Sounds the same to me I was promised the same style lineup as Comcast, problem is AT &T doesn't just add channels on with package they also take awaychannels, When you increase a package from U100_ family to u200, it should conatain all the channels in U100_family U100 and U200. Shame on AT & T it doesn't. I may very well switch back, once there total digital conversion is complete in November 2010

I always find it odd for att not to put channels like Qubo and v-me on the lowest priced programming tiers. Since you can watch Qubo and v-me For FREE! Qubo can found on most Ion O&O such as KKPX 65.2 and v-me on most pbs such as KTEH 54.5

The one channel placement that I find the strangest is NASA-TV. Only on U-300 and above? That one is senseless.

Agreed. NASA should be on U-100.
As for the U-Family, i'm guessing that package is sort of a "best of" lineup, consisting of channels that kids would find interesting, REGARDLESS of package.
For a while, Time Warner in my area had a similar situation. I was subscribed to their "basic digital" lineup, and as such, I got a number of channels duplicated on their "family" lineup. I guess I was getting the family package, because I also had the digital package. However, there was one kid's channel in Spanish that I did not receive, even though I was getting the family package. If I wanted this channel, I would have had to pay for the Spanish package. I'm guessing a subscription to the family package also would have done the job, even though I already had the family package by "default."
So, the bottom line is that a channel could be on multiple lineups at the same time. I'm guessing this is the case with Qubo being on U-300 and Family. You can subscribe to etiher lineup and get it. Because it is NOT a part of the U-200, a subscription to the U-200 package won't get it, despite the fact that the U-Family is a "lower" package.

Do the other cable and satellite companies offer qubo. I had never heard of the station before I subscribed to uverse. So that is something I would check into before you switch if that one station is that important to you.

Uverse offer more channels then any cable co. I have seen. Please send me information on any cable co. that offers 454 channels including the east and west feeds where available I would be intrested in knowing that fact.

Which channel are you asking about? QUBO is a PBS owned childrens program channel. My 2yo watches it sometimes. Neither one of us speaks Spanish, but he may learn some from Diego and Dora as well as some Chinese from Ni Ha Ki Lin

Jeffster- the poster is not asking about WTTW and WYCC. WTTW has several digital sub channels that the poster is referring too, including WTTW-Digital.... WTTW Digital is a separate feed of WTTW that is carried by Comcast as the HD feed for WTTW (i.e on Comcast for standard definition you get WTTW channel 11, while the HD version is WTTW-Digital). This differs from Uverse which carries WTTW-11 standard definition and WTTW-11 in HD. Also, WTTW has several other sub channels such as WTTW create.
By the way, Living well is a digital channel which will reinvent itself sometime soon as "Chicago 24/7" to compete with CLTV (which is also not carried by Uverse).
Please try to convey accurate information to posters or clearly let people know you are "just guessing".....

This whole thread reminds me of a question. Whatever happened to the must carry rules for local channels? Since the digital transition (frequency land grab) I don't see cable companies or Uverse carry the sub channels. Then again Uverse does not want anyone to consider them a cable company. Gets them out of the regulatory sphere (local, state and national). So they can pick and choose their markets and not pay franchise taxes either. Sweet deal for AT&T.

It would be nice if ATT could offer AMC in hi def and BBC in hi def as well. Since having U verse (2008) i noticed that they have been taking channels away in the u200. So far, they haven't add any channels in the u200 package. It's a little disapointing that they take but not add any more hi def channels.

AT&T has done nothing but add HD channels this year. What have they taken away from you? The only channel I remember that was moved recently was Fuel from 200 - 300

Must carry applies to the main channel only and not the subchannels. Sweet deal for AT&T? Sweet deal for Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, Cablevision, Dish, Direct and so on. Comcast carries some sub channels in some markets but certainly not all. How come you only mentioned AT&T?
I'm not going to say "if you don't like it, leave" (heck you may not even subscribe to UV, for all I know) but "If you don't like it, complain to the FCC or Congress" is where you need to direct your rant. If you mention that AT&T as if they are the sole offender, they may laugh at you as most providers are "guilty" too.
I also pay a local frnchise fee, monthly, which AT&T sends to the city (per my local.gov website)

AT&T took away the Soundtrack Channel, which is in VERY LIMITED availablity in the United States.
AT&T dropped Fox Soccer Channel from U-300 and put it on U-200.
But bedwards is right. They have also added a ton of HD programming this year.
