Does anyone know how uverse's internet compares to time warner cable's roadrunner? I'm thinking of switching but not if it's not worth it.
Thanks!!

Can't have and don't support are two different things. Though I don't know their policies on supporting particular operatings systems (as in tech support and other help), I can tell you that as long as it has a TCP/IP stack it will work with U-verse.
Despite all of the great features, benifits, and customer service we get from U-verse, I have noticed that if your computers aren't running Windows XP, you are out of luck when it comes to technical support. You should have seen the installers face when they came to my house. One laptop ran Visa and the other MacOS...poor guy scratched his head and actually had me SHOW HIM how to establish the wireless connections.
I'm really surprised they don't train their folks a little better. Its not like Mac and Vista are low volume OS's like LINUX.

Likewise. Both of our notebooks....one XP and one Vista....detected the connection and all we had to do was type in the security key. Our desktop runs XP and is connected via ethernet cable.

My set up was equally easy. However, the technician that did our install had no idea on our Vista or our Mac where to even look for the available networks or how to establish the connection.
I brought out the Mac first, and I don't think the rection from the installer would have been any less of a surprise if I had just shown him an alien space ship. He had absolutly NO idea how to operate a Mac. He did seem to recocgnize my Vista machine to the point he admitted he didn't know his way around the OS, but the Mac was totaly foreign.

I had DSL (DSL-Extreme), and now have TWC/RR.
DSL (haven't tried Uverse): Reliable, low latency, consitant rates. VDSL has ~10ms higher latency
RR: Higher data, lower price (bundle), varying latency, but nothing bad. LOTS of hops to get out of SoCal (AT&T/Uverse has this issue to.. both send traffic all the way down to Orange County - Irvine or Tustin depending on carrier). RR appears to have a lot of network issues (routers/backbone) in SoCal though (eg. 8 hour outage in SoCal due to a bad router ~60 miles away in the OC)
Uverse has a gateway to deal with, which might not always be fun.

I would have (and may yet) consider AT&T Uverse... but will probably cancel TV service, and use Vonage for voice (POTS too expensive, Uverse Voice not available in the Los Angeles area).
TWC analog cable is decent, digital phone is great, RR is a mixed bag (8 hour upstream SoCal peering router outage this week), and digital cable is non functional at night (freezes). I must have been spoiled on DirecTv.
