I would like to request that the WatchESPN app be made available to U-Verse subscribers. When is this finally going to be resolved? I want to start watching this app on my iPad.

I second that! Don't see why they allow us access to ESPN3.com, but not the Watch ESPN app. You can't even watch ESPN3.com feeds (which we already have access to on the computer) on that app. Ridiculous!

Guys, looking at the topics, there is one for the expiration of the ESPN 3D contract. I would think that the app is being held up as a carrot so the new contract gets signed. Relax and wait, good things will come. It will do no good to post on FB.

I hope they'll allow us access soon. I just assumed since we had access to espn3.com we'd naturally be able to use the app. Hopefully it will get sorted out soon. I posted on FB and sent in a channel request. Don't know if it did any good, but couldn't hurt.

AT&T - Please respond with a solution.
Your broadband advertising does not jive with iPad Apps and usage.

No where on that page does it mention anything about iPad. Those are pages available online for those with AT&T internet service.

There is a huge difference between watching video on the internet and watching video using an iPad or iPhone app.

Please provide the link where AT&T advertises access to the WatchESPN app.
By the way, the website for the WatchESPN app does not list U-verse as one of the providers that supports it.

That link does not mention the WatchESPN app. It mentions www.espn3.com which is not the same as the app.
Access to the WatchESPN app is tied to your TV provider whereas access to www.espn3.com is tied to your internet service provider.

Obviously you don't know the difference between ESPN3.com and the Watch ESPN app. ESPN3 is available to just about everyone that has access to ESPN via their provider. WatchESPN is only available for Brighthouse, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS.

Watchespn.com and espn3.com routes to the same website. This website is not the same as the WatchESPN app.
U-verse does not give you access to the WatchESPN app.

Technically, I believe, ESPN 3 is now a part/subset of Watch ESPN. Most providers have access to ESPN 3 content, but not broader Watch ESPN content. Unfortunately, full Watch ESPN is required to watch even just ESPN 3 content on mobile devices such as the iPad.

Since we are all customers just like you, there is nothing we can do to escalate. You are still mistaking ESPN3 / WatchESPN for the ESPN app on the iPad. You CANNOT watch ESPN using your iPad unless you have one of the three providers listed above. ESPN3/WatchESPN will work on your PC, but not the iPad since it uses Flash. That's the reason for the app, to allow users to the ability to watch ESPN on their iPad.

Where would one go to request that U-verse subscribers gain access to the WatchESPN app?

givemeglenn wrote:I actually spoke to someone at the U-verse Corporate HQ because of an interesting "issue" I thought they needed to be aware of. I tried to contact U-verse customer service about the issue because if I have a laptop and I'm remote, I can log onto ESPN3's main site, using something they call "WatchESPN" by putting in my normal U-verse login info. When I contacted Customer Service to tell them the app didin't show U-verse as an authorized ISP/carrier, I was told to sign in as a temporary Verizon user and how to do it. Now having a law degree, this was a major concern to me, so I reached out to AT&T's Corporate HQ, to find out if this was something THEY might be comfortable with, and I was immediately transferred to a senior Executive's office at U-verse so I could explain what had happened when I requested that I gain access to the app. I then asked her to escalate the negotiation with ESPN to gain authorization. This took place over FOUR (4) months ago, so I'm not encouraged this is much of a priority to them. At this point, I'm not sure if an all out attack on Facebook and Twitter by us, their customers, letting the world know of our dissatisfaction, and how their competitors have the application in place and that future customers who like sports and use iPads and iPhones really should take that into consideration before singing up with U-verse. I'm confident U-verse's marketing staff monitor's Facebook and Twitter, and if they start to see this negative information start to roll out, and how we're actually beginning to tell people how it can be used as a competitive advantage by Verizon and others, it might be enough to get them off their hands and do the right thing.

U-verse offers remote access to WatchESPN if it's subscribers are away from home and log in with a PC or Android device by signing in with their U-verse sign-in info, and U-verse even says you offer the "WatchESPN" App for the iPad and iPhone (http://www.att.net/broadbandextras/_lnm=webdirecto
