I just switched from ATT DSL (with separate modem and router) to ATT Uverse (with 2Wire modem/router). I use a wired desk top and a wireless laptop. Both computers connect to internet fine, but I can no longer access my printer from the wireless laptop. The printer is wired to my desktop, just like it's always been.
I don't fully understand networks or Homegroups and I don't know how I made it work previously, but it printed fine before Uverse. Why won't it work now? How do I fix this?
Desktop is PC with XP. Laptop is PC with WIndows 7. Thanks for your help!

The new router has caused the computers to reset their network connections to full security.
On the desktop, un-share the printer, and then share it again. On the laptop, turn off homegroup, set network to home or private, and turn on network discovery.
If you use additional/third party firewall software you may have to tweak it for the computers to "re-trust" each other.

Since your network has changed, you need to review the setup for the shared printed. See the article below:

I did as you said. No help, at first.
Then I decided to try my hand at "tweaking" the security software ( I know even less about this than about networks). I have Mcafee, provided with my ATT account. After I set the firewall to default settings on both computers - all is well - I can ptint!
Thank you, thank you!!

I followed your link, but I got stuck at step 4. Windows 7 wasn't a choice. My laptop is Windows 7. I didn't know how to proceed from there.
The suggestions from Computer-Joe seems to have corrected my problem.
Thank you for your help!
